Riot Games’ Marc Merrill is at it again after setting the MMO-space afire last week with speculation that the company might be making an MMO. After having that dream bubble popped, the community settled for a few days before VentureBeat took another run at him, this time asking him point-blank if Riot is making an MMO. Let’s just say that Merrill was vague, but with enough obfuscation to make it seem that they might, perhaps, maybe be, possibly creating an MMO. Merrill said, “I’m not going to answer that directly. The question that is really interesting and relevant is: ‘What does the future of MMOs look like?’ I think we have a view, others have a view, players have a view. World of Warcraft continues to be a dominating game. There is a really good argument that going head-to-head with World of Warcraft may not be the best move, but who knows? We’re exploring a lot of stuff; thinking about a lot of stuff.” So…we’re back to square one, sort of. What do you think? Seems like the more they avoid the question and the direct answer, the more likely it IS they are indeed!
