The orcs of “Warcraft” have had to beat a strategic retreat before the superior might of the “Star Wars” franchise. Universal moved its movie adaptation of the popular video game from its original Dec. 18, 2015 release date — weeks after Disney announced director J.J. Abrams’ “Episode VII” would bow on the same day. The Duncan Jones-helmed fantasy flick will now open on March 11, 2016, Variety reported. The move could end up a blessing in disguise for “Warcraft,” which stars Colin Farrell and Paula Paton. By moving out of its original release date, the film avoids the risk of opening at the tail end of the most crowded popcorn film slate in Hollywood history, when movie-goers may be suffering from severe blockbuster fatigue.
