Facebook is hoping to come out smelling of roses after a string of scandals – by forking out for a Chelsea Flower Show garden. The controversial social media giant is sponsoring a ‘Beyond The Screen’ garden by award-winning designer Joe Perkins at the world famous horticultural event next month. Facebook says its coastal-themed landscape garden will highlight how social media is a ‘powerful force for positive change in the real world’. The brief for ‘space to grow’ designers is to inspire visitors with cutting edge concept gardens using new trends, technology or materials. Built with and for young people, Facebook says the exhibit will be a celebration of how its site ‘enriches our lives’ by getting us gardening.
