An aircraft engineer going on holiday and a teacher picking up his elderly parents are the latest people to be fined £100 for stopping for seconds outside East Midlands Airport. Alan Chapman, 64, works as an aircraft engineer at the airport and planned to park his vehicle in the car park while he and his wife Karen went on holiday to Cyprus. He stopped at a nearby petrol station for a few seconds to double check he had his work pass as he wouldn’t be allowed into the car park without it.
