I’ve been waiting for this day all month… the daily reward is (to me) a fortune! 100K gold! I find money to very tough to come by in ESO. I’ll quest for 2 hours, finish off 2 or 3 multi-stage quests, and earn enough money to barely cover the repair bills and maybe purchase a single piece of armor. Training horse skills? At 250 gold a pop, I could rarely do that. Fast travel? At 60-100 gold depending on destination, even that ate into my meager cash reserves. It all changed when I started to pay attention to the daily rewards. Previous months had a total of roughly 15,000 gold spread out over a few days, bunched up at the end of the month (so missing a single day means you miss that reward), often 5,000 gold on the last day. Nevertheless, I’d happily take whatever I could get. But this, this is game changing for me. I did a double-take when I first saw this on Aug 1 – does that REALLY say 100,000 gold?! I closed the window, re-opened, got closer to the TV … [Read more...] about ESO: Riches
Don’t worry – Ever, Jane is as fine as ever. But it popped back on our team’s radar this week as a game we haven’t checked in on for a while, so we decided to do just that. MMO players will recall that Ever, Jane is the Jane Austen universe MMO with a heavy emphasis on roleplaying and social gameplay. Like a lot of indie MMOs, it’s long since missed its original launch window and is currently still in open beta. Its last big update landed back in January, after 3 Turn Productions declared the game “feature complete.” That update cleaned up the code, buffed customer support, and polished housing. 3 Turn also warned that patches from the indie team would be slowing down as the devs working on the game had diminished to just two people. “With a team of 9 people we were able to put patches out quarterly, but now that all the artwork is complete, though not all yet in game, the team is down to two people who will complete the polish and … [Read more...] about Whatever happened to the Jane Austen MMO Ever, Jane?
Recently in the Guild Recruitment section, we unveiled the plans for Meridian, an ambitious Fractured project that will serve as content creators and facilitators for not only our members, but other players and guilds as well. As was mentioned in our recruitment thread, one of Meridian's goals is to create a thriving capital city on Syndesia that will become a nexus for community, diplomacy, and trade. According to Fractured's developers, city planning, development, and maintenance will be time consuming and challenging. It will require a strong central vision, a dedicated team, and abundant patience. In a world where MMORPGs are often mindless and unfocused, we think such a complex enterprise will be the cornerstone to Fractured's long term success and sense of community. This thread is meant for discussion and planning of Meridian's (currently unnamed) Syndesian capital. In addition to standing as the headquarters for our own, we wish to serve as facilitator and host to chapter … [Read more...] about Meridian’s capital
The first characters that were created during the headstart are celebrating their 7th birthday. Now my warrior is proudly wearing armor that’s worth more than 700 gold only because of the dyes applied! Every character that reaches their 7th birthday receives a Victorious Dye Kit which lets you choose dyes from the Zhaitan Dye Kit, the Mordremoth Dye Kit, the Kralkatorrik Dye Kit or the Sacred Dye Kit. Although I’d advice against using them for the Zhaitan Dye Kits as these can be chosen from the Triumphant Dye Kit as well which you get on the characters’ 6th birthday. Well, unless you have no characters left to reach their 6th birthday and really want a dye from that kit (and don’t want to buy it from the Trading Post). Other than posing for this picture, I’m not playing her at the moment. I returned to a low level human ranger and am playing through the human zones now. And this is a screenshot of my Asura warrior back in August 2012. Before I used … [Read more...] about Screenshot Saturday: 7 years of GW2
If 'it' hadn't already begun, then 'it' has certainly begun now. Yesterday an official Blizzard statement was made in response to the add-on community creating tools that essentially put 'retail WoW' into Classic WoW. More... The main focus of this response is to an add-on that creates a LFG tool similar to what we have in modern-day WoW. It makes finding groups easier, facilitates the creation of groups, etc. This did not exist in Classic. Here's Blizzard's response: Blue SourceWe’ve been closely following the community discussion around this add-on for WoW Classic, as well as analyzing it to make sure we understand how it works. After careful examination, we believe the nature of ClassicLFG is incompatible with our social design for Classic. Thus, in an upcoming patch (in the weeks following launch), we will be adding restrictions to the Classic add-on API that will significantly limit this add-on and others like it. I think that's completely fair. I support … [Read more...] about The Spirit of World of Warcraft is Old School
