A new episode of Battle Bards is up! This is one show you don’t want to miss! If anything, you’d probably want to hear at least the, uh, unique intro. Let me just say right now, I blame Syl! The image below, incidentally, is also chosen JUST. FOR. HER. Anyway, some of the bestest, most badass music in MMOs are the tunes that come on in-game when you’re fighting. We’re not talking just any scrub mob though, no way. This show is all about the EPIC boss fights, man! Of course, what one considers an epic boss is up for contention among the Bards, but Syp, Syl and I had a lot of fun recording this nonetheless and we hope you’ll have fun listening too. LISTEN NOW Episode 23 show notes Intro (including “Epic Boss Battle” from Elsword Online and “Boss Room 1” from Atlantica Online) “Ragnaros/Molten Core” from World of Warcraft (comp. It’s been a short time since Gazillion Entertainment folded into bankruptcy and, as one might expect, the debt collectors are coming out of the woodwork to get their overdue money. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy case has been filed in California courts against Gazillion from three parties claiming a total of $695,123 in unpaid debt. The majority of the claim comes from Playchemy Inc claiming $684,186 in unpaid debt. The rest is spread evenly between Secret 6 and one Caitlin Capes. Gazillion is scheduled to meet in front of a judge with said creditors on February 23 in the afternoon at the San Francisco Courtroom to discus trial dates. Gazillion Entertainment launched Marvel Heroes in 2013. At the end of 2017, Marvel pulled its license in part due to under-performance, resulting in Marvel Heroes shutting down and Gazillion going bankrupt. Lord of the Rings Online Will Release Update 23: The Lonely Mountain This Year Developers Standing Stone Games has released a producer’s letter for The Lord of the Rings Online. One of the main things the team is working on is the release of Update 23. The new update will move the main story along from Northern Mirkwood into the Dwarven kingdom of Erebor. Players will also get a chance to venture further into the Iron Hills, stronghold of Dain Ironfoot. There will be around 80 landscape quests to complete, as players will very much need the XP to hit the new level cap of 120. Update 23’s release will be around summer or shortly after, and a new instance cluster will also be making its way into the game. For end-game raiders, there’s a new raid too but that will be coming at a much later date. The Black Book of Mordor that began in the last expansion will also continue, but players wanting to check out Minas Morgul and Shelob will have to wait until 2019. The letter … [Read more...] about Lord of the Rings Online Will Release Update 23: The Lonely Mountain This Year
Play LOTRO for freeNow that Lord of the Rings Online has emerged from Mordor, it’s preparing to go back in the future. SSG’s Rob Ciccolini and Jerry Snook opened up about next couple of updates with MMO Central, teasing an epic confrontation with the giant spider Shelob. Before this takes place, however, Update 23 is going to deliver what sounds like a new region and lots of new instances. “Our next update will move towards the Grey Mountains, but as we expand we expect to have some reference or maybe even a short appearance because that will be the beginning of [Shelob’s] storyline,” said Ciccolini. The conversation wound around to a variety of different topics, such as housing upkeep, security issues, the difficulty of Mordor, Daybreak as a publisher, The Hobbit as source material, class balance passes, and the severe lag issues the game has experienced for years now (no reassuring answers for the latter, by the way). Here’s an interesting fact: … [Read more...] about Lord of the Rings Online talks Update 23, Mordor’s difficulty, lag, and more
