A few weeks back, 7D2D dropped Alpha 17 for PC users. This was a HUGE patch that we’ve been waiting for since… well sometime during the summer. It kept getting pushed back, but it’s available now to opt into as an experimental build. Our Zombie Team has put some hours into the new build over the past couple of weekends. While I’ve hardly scratched the surface of what’s there, and haven’t seen anything that constitutes as end game (we had to start over twice — once because of a patch incompatibility), I think I’ve got a feel for it enough to write some stuff. Welcome to Fort DogSnekPigMan See that picture above? This is Fort DogSnekPigMan, our newest digs. In the past, we usually made a beeline to find a forge house to reinforce as a fort. But with changes to the game (they removed my beloved Log Spikes), this just isn’t as feasible to do by the first blood moon anymore. So when we had to restart the last time, we decided to go … [Read more...] about 7D2D: Beware DogSnekPigMan Alpha 17
I hope that everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a good one. I appreciate all the well-wishes you guys sent over the weekend to my family and I — thank you! RL Update: As I posted on Thanksgiving, my father has been in the hospital for over 2 weeks now. At the point of that posting, we didn’t know what was going to happen (surgery was a maybe), but now I’m glad to say he’s officially on the road to recovery. We’re still not sure how long it will be before he comes home, but at least the worst of it seems to be over, we hope. Though I spent time at the hospital this weekend, I also did get to do some gaming. The newest Alpha of 7D2D dropped, and I’ll write about my thoughts on that soon. Aside from that, I’ve just been making slow progress on my FFXIV monthly goals. Yesterday, I finally hit level 70 on Amon’s first crafter. I didn’t intend for that to be Culinarian, but that’s how it ended up. This is a good … [Read more...] about FFXIV: Alt Level 70 Crafter
I never thought I’d use the word “Pimp” in a title of a blog post, but there you are. I love this team and what they do, so I’m pimpin’ their name right now… (Oh… that was awful… I’ll see myself out.) The Fun Pimps is the development team behind the zombie survival crafting game, 7 Days to Die. If you look at my archives, you’ll see that I first reviewed 7D2D back in July of 2014… and this is a game that the Posse still enthusiastically plays today (we were playing it last weekend, in fact)! I have over 700 hours put into this game, which makes it my most-played Steam game ever. Even though it’s still wading through various stages of alpha, we are awaiting the next big patch drop eagerly. Jeeps and gyro-copters!! Woot! So who are the Fun Pimps? Based on their website: The Fun Pimps A.K.A. TFP are a small dedicated group of highly experienced Game and Software developers with a passion to make games that both our … [Read more...] about Blaugust Dev Appreciation Week: The Fun Pimps
On top of working on my Fashion Leader achievement this past weekend, I’ve been diligently progressing other things in FFXIV. First, as you can see above, I reached the Bloodsworn rank with the Ananta beast tribe, which granted me the True Griffon Mount. I got teased about “painting” the griffon in our friend-group Discord since we’ve been playing a bit of 7D2D this weekend, too… wherein I love to paint everything, still. The joke’s on them! 😉 Thanks to working on Beast Tribe quests consistently since Patch 4.2, I leveled my Paladin from 64 to 70! I just dinged 70 Paladin this weekend, and was finally able to equip the mish-mash of tank gear I’d been hanging on to from random end-game drops. Amoon also helped run some Deltascape 4 for token drops so I could upgrade to a decent Paladin weapon! I thought the Lost Alligan sword and board looked pretty neat, and I love the Rabidnasty chest for tanks. I also finally sat down to grind out the … [Read more...] about FFXIV: Two New Level 70s and a White Griffon Mount
One of my goals for 2018 was to reach a milestone of having played (over) 50% of the games in my Steam backlog. This month, I’ve been nudging closer by prompting myself to try a new Steam game each week. Last night, for the first time in years, the calculator reported that I’ve played 50% of the Steam games in my library! Given that this number is 245 games, this is no little thing! My other goal this year was to not buy a new game if I wasn’t interested in playing it almost immediately. I’ve pretty much stuck to this. This week, for example, I obtained my Project: Gorgon Steam key from the Kickstarter, so I made sure to install the game and poke around in it a little bit last night. Once I have more time to sit down with it, I’ll be sure to post about my new experiences in P:G. Aside from this, I finished Back to the Future: Episode 3 last week. I had an itch to try a city builder this week (mostly because I’m interested in Surviving … [Read more...] about Steam Challenge: 50% Milestone Goal Met!
