I looked a long, long time for a new game that felt PVE friendly after getting bored with D3:ROS. Every single game coming out with a PVE component seemed to fall into one of the following groups: Yet Another Theme Park A Brad McQuaid inspired "You Need a 20-Man Group to go Pick Flowers" Another ARPG Yeah, We've got PVE in our game. You'll have to put up with being attacked constantly in our OWPVP environment. I was overjoyed to find Fractured since I'll FINALLY have a PVE experience in a completely different type of game...a PVE experience that won't involve being constantly attacked while I'm trying to explore and gather. I am positive that I'm not the only one out there that has been dying to find a good PVE experience in a game that isn't just a clone. One in which it's easy to PVP by going to other worlds, but in which PVP is completely my choice. Let's face it: Syndesia will be competing with Ashes of Creation for players Tartaros will be competing with Crowfall for players … [Read more...] about This game is a potential PVE gold mine
Hi I am new to the community, but one thing I have been curious about when first observing this game are how the "Three races" broken down. From the videos on Kickstarter the races seem to broken down as: Or will there be different types of "Beastmen" (i.e. differential species such as plant women or bear warrior in concept art) or "Demons" (i.e. female demon)? What about Humans(different nationalities depending on settlement or spawn area on Syndesia)? … [Read more...] about Inquiry About Race Customization
Magic users will end up OP compared to physical users. __ If DEX and PER add nothing significant to magic users (and they do not), then magic users will be OP compared to physical users. "Why", you ask? Because everyone uses INT to learn and progress, and everyone uses mana to fuel skills. Now if you have an archer with 20 PER and DEX, and 10 INT, and you have a magic user in lets say 20 INT and CHA (or something), and 10 DEX, they will both be EQUALLY effective in combat, cus they both have their main attributes maxed to 20 BUT magic users will learn faster (due to their main skill also being used for skill progression) and thus progress faster (and progression will take long time), and they will also never lack mana to fuel their skills (INT=mana fueling all theirs skills, while archers for example also needing mana for part of skills, while having INT on only 10 if they wish to max their primary attributes). This ends up in magic users being OP compared to non magic users that can't … [Read more...] about Why Magic users will be OP compared to physical users
I'm wondering if a mage build needs Perception and Dexterity to land spells more often. How about DD spells? And more importantly how about illusion, charming, psychic attacks, healing or bard skills? For pure Intelligence based, targeted DD spells it might make sense. For psychic, charm and illusion spells (magic schools governed by Int + Charisma) it makes a lot less sense. For summoning or bard spells it makes no sense at all. And it would be a problem for making efficient charisma-based magic builds, as one would need Int + Cha + Perc + Dex to be efficient (with very little health as a result). If Perception and Dex are the basis for hit rates (accuracy) of all types of attacks (melee, archery/ranged and magic), then marksmen and assassins would clearly have a huge advantage, as these are their school-governing attributes anyway. They could then easily stack health (Con) and mana (Int) on top, while the charming mage would have to live with minimum health and carrying capacity. … [Read more...] about Is accuracy rating (Perception + Dex) affecting spell hit chance?
Everyone has their own opinions on the Angels and Abominations. From what I can see, the majority of people in this community (to include me) love the idea. However, what about the Lich? Does it live up to your expectation? Can it measure up to the Angel and Abomination in your mind? I for one find it kind of lacking. Maybe it's just the indoctrination of what I believe the Lich should be interfering with the way the devs would like me to interpret it. In some stories the Lich is a master of magic that wants to pursue the unknown and is on the whole 'neutral', but in most of the stories I have read, they are portrayed as evil beings that have forsaken their humanity and that of others to pursue selfish desires like ever-lasting life or resurrection of a loved one at the expense of another. I can see what the devs are trying to do. Bad to Good = Angel. But what is the opposite of neutral? Extreme? Which way does that extreme go? Good or Bad? Or maybe its Extremely Neutral (i.e. the … [Read more...] about The Lich vs. the Angel and Abomination
