If it sucks then it’s just alpha but if it’s final then it’s another bad game. I know.. what do you expect from an early access game? Well shiver my timbers and call me matey but some early access games are quite impressive and show a lot of potential. This evening I sat down and played Wild Terra , an upcoming MMO life simulator and by that I mean it’s an open world MMO where you are responsible for your survival , even if you are slightly impaired. Does the alpha suck? No , is it great? Hardly. It’s in between that fine line of good or bad and I’m undecided. Let’s work out the pros and cons; PROS You run around as a semi naked female (because females always get more loot in online games). You build things (yay!). You can destroy other people’s things they built (double yay!). CONS Getting started can be confusing (how do I build a house?!) The directional system is temperamental, especially when attempting to slaughter an … [Read more...] about When is early access too early?

There are only a handful of games you can celebrate launching by releasing an actual airship into the sky, but Worlds Adrift is one of them. And fortunately for the lighter-than-air flight crowd, that’s exactly what the studio did. Of course, it’s just an early access launch, but hey. Points along the way. More beta news? I guess, all right. There are hints of more details coming about Amazon’s New World. Which is good, because boy, sometimes the beta field is thin upon the ground. Speaking of things getting thin upon the ground… yeah, if you had invested in long-term stocks in Just Survive, you may want to unload those investments. There’s another patch coming, but removing all paid lockboxes doesn’t scream “and good news to come.” Do you want to drive cars around? The Crew 2 will let you do just that when its closed beta starts up on May 31st. There are probably other mechanics, but… cars. The subscription plans for Bless Online … [Read more...] about Betawatch: Worlds Adrift launches early access for airships and actual airships (May 18, 2018)

Fortnite, one of several new paid early access games that opens up this year, looks to offer an interesting take on survival and fort building games. I spent around a week or so playing around the PC version of the game (it is also available for PS4, Xbox Live and Mac). Here’s a short rundown of what I’ve experienced during the Early Access. Gameplay Fortnite mixes gameplay elements from survival games, where you can gather resources on instanced maps, while throwing you in Borderlands-like shoot outs against the husk. Half of your time is spent on gathering resources that you need to create everything you’re going to be using: from traps, to weapons, to ammo, and most especially to your fort’s building materials. The other half of your gaming experience in Fortnite focuses mostly on trying to defend against the husks as you stand your ground in a variety of missions. Defending Against The Husks The game’s core gameplay is pretty straightforward. But the … [Read more...] about Fortnite Early Access Impressions (PC)
AutoAttack Games’ tower defense game Legion TD 2 has just entered Early Access on Steam. The sequel comes with exciting 4v4 battles, global servers and more. Legion TD 2 brings 50 fighters and 4 playable legions to choose from. It is a standalone sequel to a well known Warcraft III mod which many of you probably tried before. The indie project definitely seems promising and it’s important to keep in mind that Early Access means we can expect a lot of balance issues and bugs that require patience and constructive reporting. Legion TD 2’s system requirements seem rather player-friendly, check them out below. Minimum Requirements to run Legion TD 2 OS: Windows 7 The Early Access for the game costs roughly $20 and we strongly encourage you to constantly provide feedback to the developer so that they can build a functional tower defense title by the time it leaves the current phase.
