Play Elder Scrolls OnlineEven though I don’t believe that Summerset was the best choice for the next expansion for the Elder Scrolls Online, that doesn’t mean that the chapter is without merit. According to ZeniMax Online Creative Director Rich Lambert, Summerset will be bigger and have more to do than Morrowind. It’s hard to believe that the actual island is bigger, but I do believe that there is much more playable area on Summerset than on Vvardenfell because it doesn’t have a giant volcano sitting in the middle of it taking up a lot of room. Because this island hasn’t been seen since Elder Scrolls: Arena, it’s hard to know what to expect from this land. We know that certain things exist, like the Crystal Tower and the home of the Psijic Order Artaeum, but we haven’t ever really seen some of these places in any games. Because I’m a lore buff, I’d like to take a few moments to talk about the first settlers of the Summerset Isles, … [Read more...] about Tamriel Infinium: Where did the Elder Scroll Online Summerset come from?

Elder Scrolls: Legends brings the legendary series made by Bethesda into card-game form for players to enjoy and battle in. But make no mistake, this is one game where the strategies you make truly matter, for if you don’t, you won’t get through. The game is constantly growing and evolving, including having a very deep story mode that lines up with one of the other major Bethesda title, Elder Scrolls Online. In fact, a recent DLC for that game has just made its way to Legends via a new patch. Patch 68 brings loads of new content for players, including the expansion of the story mode via The Clockwork City. This city was built by the god Sotha, and was meant to be a “vision” of the future. But, he was betrayed by a fellow god, and his vision and secrets died with him. Now, you’ll have to explore the city and see what awaits you, and just so you know, not all of it is friendly. There are 35 missions in this story, and there are 58 cards for you to … [Read more...] about Elder Scrolls: Legends Patch 68 Detailed
Play Elder Scrolls OnlineLet me teach you how to understand Mephala the Webspinner. Maybe that’s misleading; she’s a Deadric Prince, and who can really understand the motivations of a god, especially one as complicated as Mephala? That’s also what is really wonderful about the characters in Elder Scrolls Online: They never seem to be all good or all bad. There always appears to be some sort of nuance about them that requires explanation. If you buy the physical Collector’s for Summerset, you will get a 12-inch statue of Mephala, which might be the first collector’s edition of ESO that I buy, and it’s because of that statue. During the introductory livestream for Summerset, Creative Director Rich Lambert simply said that “she plays a role” in the upcoming expansion but didn’t really go any further than that. But if she’s like any of the other featured Daedric Princes, she’s likely one of the formidable enemies … [Read more...] about Tamriel Infinium: Understanding Elder Scrolls Online’s Mephala and speculating on Summerset
Play Elder Scrolls OnlineWith Summerset on the horizon, ZeniMax is shifting around just what goes into Elder Scrolls Online’s base package, according to a dev post published this morning. For starters, the Tamriel Unlimited name that’s been used for the base game since it went sub-optional is being dropped, replaced with the Morrowind tag. “This means that moving forward, if you purchase this new base game – The Elder Scrolls Online, not The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited – it will include the Morrowind Chapter,” says the studio. Of course, if you’re preordering Summerset, you get Morrowind for free anyway. Much of Morrowind’s content, including the zone and the Warden class, will move to the cash shop when Summerset launches on May 21st. Do note that means you can buy and play the Warden without paying for the entirety of Morrowind (or vice versa). PvP battlegrounds, however, will be granted to everyone for free, whether you … [Read more...] about Elder Scrolls Online is opening up PvP battlegrounds to everyone, whether you’ve bought Morrowind or not
Play Elder Scrolls OnlineMaybe you saw it coming, maybe not, but it’s official now as it’s just been announced on the stream: The Elder Scrolls Online’s next expansion/chapter is Summerset, home of the high elves, the first time the franchise has been back to that area since Arena in 1994. Mark June 5th in your calendars, as it’ll release then on all platforms – yes, PC and console simultaneous release. [This appears to have been an error in the press release; the website lists May 21st for PC and June 5th for console.] We’re getting not just Summerset Isle but a new storyline, a new faction, a new skill line, a new crafting skill, and multiple new group dungeons. “By the decree of Queen Ayrenn, Summerset Isle is now open to foreigners, but a Daedric threat looms over the breathtaking home of the High Elves. Players will travel to the Summerset Isle, gather allies, and unravel a shadowy conspiracy that threatens all of Tamriel. ESO: Summerset … [Read more...] about The Elder Scrolls Online announces Summerset chapter for May 21 for PC and June 5 for console
