Massively OP’s not-so-serious end-of-the-year awards continue today with our blooper award for most ridiculous article that was specifically our fault. And the winner is… I mentioned in the “best article joke almost nobody got” piece that Eliot is fond of goofy posts. He did an all-caps post from the POV of Innoruuk. He did an entire Betawatch in terribad pirate slang. And then there was the time he wrote a Conan Exiles post to the tune of Beauty and the Beast (“build a house that’s long, maybe see a dong, Conan’s going east”). It’s in your head now, isn’t it? Yes. So he usually wins these types of awards. It’s in his blood. However, this year’s winner is actually Andrew’s listicle on sexy monsters in Monster Hunter World. I have no idea how he kept a straight face writing this. And why did I approve this pitch? I’m slightly mortified right now, and also dying laughing? The … [Read more...] about Massively OP’s 2018 Blooper Awards: Most ridiculous article

Earlier this week, we posted a rundown of the most popular MMORPG conversations of 2015, calculated by number of comments and then number of commenters. Top posts by page views: Right away, you can see that our top posts are dominated by three major MMORPGs: Guild Wars 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and The Elder Scrolls Online. These games have massive communities and huge followings on Reddit. It’s no surprise that they do well … [Read more...] about The most popular MMORPG articles of 2015
Ever since yesterday, when I go to my overview -> quests, I can see that there are 14 available blog articles instead of 13. As such I have 1300/1400 available foundation points. I can't find the article though, and from what I gather reading the forum, there is no new article. What is going on? I tried to log out and log back in, but that didn't help! … [Read more...] about Is there a new (after 21/3) blog article?
Earlier this month, Overwatch made headlines when a player posted up a behavioral therapy chart his wife – who happens to be a therapist – made him fill out after he complained about his game losses. That brings us to today’s Daily Grind: How do you deal with your anger in an MMO? Do you complain to guildies, log out, bang your desk, go work out to burn off some steam? Are you handling it as well as the Overwatch Redditor and trying to learn from what went wrong? What do you do, exactly, when your teammates turn out to be “hot garbage”? My wife told me to fill out this form after I kept complaining about … [Read more...] about The Daily Grind: How do you deal with your anger in MMORPGs?
