It’s an exciting time for the folks over at Soulbound Studios, as they’re putting the wraps on the development of Chronicles of Elyria’s Adventure 0.4.0 and preparing to move on to Adventure 0.5.0. To commemorate the occasion, the studio has released an absolutely monumental dev diary that recaps all of the progress that the devs have made over the course of Adventure 0.4.0. In terms of newly implemented features, the post showcases the new “goal-based, need-based AI system, complete with a node-graph authoring system” that the devs hope to provide to players, after some refinement of course, to allow them to script their own OPCs (offline player characters) when the game launches. Also in the spotlight are the new family narrative system, the personal destiny system, as well as souls, identities, and more. The post also delves into some of the systems that have been modified and reworked over the course of 0.4.0 and which will have new implementations … [Read more...] about Chronicles of Elyria’s latest blog post recaps the development of Adventure 0.4.0, previews Adventure 0.5.0

The Heroes of the Storm team has unleashed a new developer blog that compliments a pair of videos released late last month that show off the new traits and abilities soon coming to both Raynor and Azmodan. Each will have a trio of new talents that should dramatically alter their gameplay. They'll be coming to the Nexus in July. Read the blog post on the HOTS site. Azmodan One of Diablo 3's Prime Evils will become even more evil with the rework. At level 16, Sin's Grasp shortens the cooldown of All Shall Burn IF it goes to its full duration. In addition, if the channel is completed, Master of Destruction provides an AoE explosion. At level 20, Azmo will receive a brand new talent, Trample, that, as the name implies, will allow him to jet forward a short distance to deal damage and slow all in his path. Raynor Raynor, everyone's (possible) favorite Starcraft Terran, will receive a new Level 7 talent that reduces Adrenaline Rush while he uses basic attacks while Inspire is … [Read more...] about In Case You Missed It, Raynor & Azmodan Reworks Spotlighted in New Blog Post + Videos
The Elder Scrolls Online site has been updated with with a new article that introduces players to the two new DLC packs that were announced at this week's E3 2018. Both the Wolfhunter and Murkmire DLC game packs are shown with some location screenshots and both are expected to launch later this year. Wolfhunter will be released first and will see players able to take on a pair of new dungeons: Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices. There will be new stories told about the werewolves that inhabit Tamriel and "perhaps come face-to-face with the Daedric Prince Hircine". Murkmire takes place in Argonia, a new zone with lots of new story content. Players will be charged with trying to "win the trust of reclusive tribes". Similar to previous DLC zones, Murkmire will feature a brand new area to explore, an exciting story line, new World Bosses and Delves, and a brand-new group arena (with its own leaderboard). When Elder Scrolls Online players set sail for the Summerset Isles in June, they'll surely hear about, if not meet, Queen Ayrenn's cousin who is the current Proxy Queen of the location. Named Alwinarwe, the Proxy Queen is the subject of the latest blog post to provide context and lore for the forthcoming chapter. Alwinarwe, my dearest cousin, I am about to issue a royal decree that directly concerns Summerset Isle. As we have discussed on many occasions, I have finally decided to act upon my inclinations and open our fair and wondrous island to traders, immigrants, and visitors of all descriptions. A copy of the decree is on its way to you in a separate package. I understand that this decision goes against the counsel you have provided me with in the past and probably bends your Altmeri sensibilities nearly to the breaking point, but I need you to stand fast and make sure my wishes are followed to the letter. The Dominion and our place in Tamriel depend on Summerset becoming a free … [Read more...] about Proxy Queen Alwinarwe Introduced in New Blog
One of the things I have failed miserably at lately is keeping up with my blog feed. During the heyday of Google Reader I was a voracious consumer of gaming blogs of all stripe, and regularly read through everything in my backlog of posts. Stuff happened and my attempt to expand my horizons when I was writing a column on the blogosphere saw my feed ballooning to some 700 sites… a good number of them posting about things that never really interested me on a personal level. As a result I find myself spending less time reading blog posts and tend to catch up in a flurry of reading on the weekends. That said I did end up doing a strafing run on Feedly yesterday afternoon and stumbled across a post from Tobold posing the question of whether or not the MMO Blogosphere is still alive. The short answer is yes, the community is still very much alive. The long answer however is a lot more complicated. While there are still a ton of … [Read more...] about MMO Blogging Dead?
