Well it is officially showing signs of summer here in oklahoma. When I came in from work today there were two partially constructed “mud-dauber” nests in the overhang of the front porch. I will have to get out my special knocking-down stick and remove them when the wasp isn’t looking. Otherwise we will spend an entire summer of trying to keep them from flying inside the house. Gotta Drink Blue Milk I had to share this one. For those who have been under a rock, this is an amazingly geeky parody of bane of the internet… Friday by Rebecca Black. The video has reached a level of infamy that I have not seen since the Star Wars Kid. I’ve seen ninja-linking it has replaced rickrolling on many forums I use. Folks have dubbed it “black-rolling”. Anyways, the above video is without a doubt the best of the many Friday parody videos. Waiting Patiently In Line Syp over at BioBreak posted today about a … [Read more...] about Bonus Stage: Primeday
This Wednesday, November 21st, Blizzard will be bringing the Diablo III PTS up to give players the opportunity to preview and test the game’s next update, patch 2.6.4, which brings with it some quality-of-life updates, a new seasonal buff, and balance updates to class armor sets. On the quality-of-life front, the update will add five additional armory tabs for all characters, the ability to store rift keystones in the materials tab rather than the main inventory, and clearer notifications when Primal Legendaries drop, which should help ensure that players don’t miss out on any of their shiny loot. The update also tweaks Greater Rifts by making it so that players can no longer alter their Paragon points while a Greater Rift is open, as the devs feel that “the gameplay of micro-managing Paragon points during the course of a Greater Rift doesn’t feel like especially engaging gameplay.” The main focus of the update, however, is the new season, Season of … [Read more...] about Diablo III PTS patch reworks class set bonuses, adds quality-of-life improvements
On Wednesdays, we farm gems. In Trove, that is. That’s because ever since Trion revamped the daily login system, players get a daily bonus for doing a specific type of gameplay, with an even bigger bonus for subbers. It’s on a fixed weekly rotation, meaning every Monday is the same, every Tuesday, and so on. Wednesday is gems, so everybody in the game is farming gem boxes because they are just that important to character power. The bonuses are extremely generous, and objectively, I can say it’s a great system. Buuuuuut I find myself being mildly annoyed by the compulsion to go do that one thing, knowing I’d be missing out if I didn’t. Anybody remember old-school Ultima Online and power hour, when your skill gains were accelerated for the first hour you were logged in every day? It’s even worse than that because at least that was over after an hour and people could relax and go back to ganking miners or shuffling bags of regs around their houses. This … [Read more...] about The Daily Grind: Do you feel pressure to play MMOs for daily bonuses or experience events?
It’s been quite a while since I last posted. Mostly over the convening months I just have lacked the drive to really write about anything I was playing. I’ve spent time in Everquest 2, Lord of the Rings Online, Rift, various sundry single player games and most importantly Star Wars online. Pretty much from the moment I played Beta Weekend the rest of the time has been helping my friends organize our guild: Order of the White Mask. Best Grouping Experience Ever So over the last few weeks since launch I have been playing Belghast my Jedi Guardian over on the Shien PVE-RP server. Prior to launch a good friend and I made a pact to level as a duo, so we have been leveling Tank/Healer as he is playing a Jedi Sage. So far it has been one of the most enjoyable leveling experiences so far. The group bonus however has lead us to end up grossly over level at any given point in the curve. This could be due to the grouping bonus, or the simple … [Read more...] about Planet and Bonus Series Level Ranges
