Last night was the beginning of the Destiny 2 PC beta for those of us who have already preordered the game. I am one of those weirdos that loves Destiny so much that I plan on playing it on multiple platforms. With Destiny year 2 and beyond I played it actively on both the PS4 and Xbox One… and going forward I am planning on doing the same and splitting time between PC and PS4. One of the things you need to realize is that I have some strange habits when it comes to gaming. I split my time between my gaming desktop upstairs and my gaming laptop in the living room. I’ve found the secret to marital happiness as a gamer is to be able to be flexible in my gaming habits and there are nights when I just need to be more available than cloistered in my office with my ear cans on. As a result I have two systems to worry about being able to play Destiny on. The positive is however as someone who potentially might be interested in Destiny 2, … [Read more...] about Destiny 2 PC Beta Thoughts

The Crew 2 posts new trailers for its May 31st closed beta run
Just ahead of this year’s E3, Ubisoft is rolling out The Crew 2’s closed beta – that’s May 31st through June 4th, and yep, it’s on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, with preload beginning on the 29th. What sort of vroom-vroom content will you be testing? “During the Closed Beta, players will experience the first level of the progression system as they compete in races across the first four disciplines – Street Race, Rally Raid, Powerboat and Aerobatics – against the backdrop of a fully redesigned U.S.A via land, water and air. To create more adrenaline-fueled experiences, players can use the Fast-Fav feature and instantly switch their vehicle type depending on the type of terrain they will encounter: an airplane flying underneath San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge can turn into a boat with the touch of a button.” The game was originally announced a year ago with a launch date of March 2018, but it was delayed, first to a vague summer … [Read more...] about The Crew 2 posts new trailers for its May 31st closed beta run
My Bloody Corvo
This weekend was largely all about the Dishonored franchise for me and making some serious progress through large chunks of it. I wrote a bit about Dishonored 2 and Parsec the other day, but to recap… Parsec is this really cool streaming client that allows you to play games with exceedingly low latency from another machine. When combined with the fact that I have traditionally done most of my single player gaming on my downstairs laptop… this ends up being a revolutionary change for me personally. Dishonored 2 was the first game to release that my GTX 960M graphics card and 4th gen i7 processor could not handle. I could not under any circumstances get the game to run at something I would consider “playable” and as a result I just didn’t play the game. A little less than 2 years alter… with me stumbling onto Parsec… it was absolutely the first game I attempted because I hated that I never got … [Read more...] about My Bloody Corvo
