Hellgate: London is back, again, again, and this time it is hitting Steam as a single player only game with the Tokyo expansion that Hanbitsoft added on after Flagship Studios went bankrupt. There are no microtransactions or cash shop items, and the game is available for a single purchase of $12.99 with a launch sale of 25% down to $9.74. There is one caveat, and that is that the Tokyo content will not be available right now. The team is working on stability in the main quest and will release it as a free update. As it was mentioned before, HELLGATE: London Steam Version has the latest update client of the Tokyo Version, which has all improved UI / UX / Content. However, due to internal circumstances, Tokyo content is temporarily unavailable in order to provide you with a smooth gameplay. Once stability of the Tokyo Main Quest is settled, you will receive a notice for FREE UPDATE. Until then you can still enjoy playing London, Stonehenge, Second Attack and Abyss maps. Impressions: Hellgate London Is Lazy And Incompetent
What else can I say? A whole lot. Incompetence is a word that has dogged Hellgate: London from the day when Electronic Arts and Flagship thought that a subscription on a Diablo clone would be a guaranteed money maker. Following the completely timely demise of Flagship Studios and the departure of Bill Roper to a career of bankrupting other developers through sheer greed, Hellgate traded hands over to the less incompetent grasp of T3Fun and publisher Hanbitsoft, continuing support in Korea and even releasing expansion content. Hanbitsoft relaunched Hellgate in the west in 2014 and almost immediately put the game on life support until 2016 when the servers finally shut down. It wasn’t ideal, but for those looking to play online at the time, it was their only choice. With 2019 just around the riverbend, Hanbitsoft has finally brought back Hellgate: Global for what is now the third attempt at resurrecting this dead horse. In spite of the general public attitude, I don’t … [Read more...] about Impressions: Hellgate London Is Lazy And Incompetent
Worlds Adrift Devs Melting In London Heatwave
Worlds Adrift team, according to Bossa Studio’s weekly newsletter. A few lucky devs shipped off to Develop Conference 2018, while the rest of the team stayed to continue work on the game and brave the London heatwave. “For those of you not living UK – London is a big, busy, beautiful city absolutely not equipped to handle any kind of weather! So in a heatwave we kinda melt, so not much happens around that. No drama or anything.” In spite of the heatwave, the devs have been devotedly working on the new creature refactor and have completed work on loot accumulation over time on islands. Come patch 0.2.4, all containers and chests will be permanently visible but will appear closed if they contain loot. The devs are also working on increased resource drops from creatures, balancing the new Wind system, fixing alliance and crew chat on the new server, squashing bugs, and a whole lot more. You can check out the full rundown of tasks on the Worlds Adrift official site. … [Read more...] about Worlds Adrift Devs Melting In London Heatwave
London Spitfire topped this weekend’s Overwatch League world championship as second season franchise buy-ins climb
The Overwatch League’s first season grand finals have wrapped up, and the London Spitfire has emerged as the world victor. The Spitfire shut out the Philadelphia Fusion by the end of the second match with a 3-0 win. The event was the culmination of a much-ballyhooed first season, which took place over 40 matches this year. The grand finals took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with 22,434 people attending to watch the highly competitive esport showdown take place. It was even broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN 2, Disney XD, and Twitch. So other than bragging rights, what do the members of team Spitfire get for their win? They walked away from the grand finals with a cool million dollars lining their pockets. Don’t feel too bad for the Fusion, however, because they still got $400,000 for second place. ESPN is reporting that Blizzard has already picked up a new team, Atlanta, for the second season. The second season slots are “espected to sell for $30 million to $60 … [Read more...] about London Spitfire topped this weekend’s Overwatch League world championship as second season franchise buy-ins climb
