Champions Online is proud to announce that they are celebrating their 9th anniversary. On August 30th, Cryptic Studios’ superhero-themed MMORPG turns nine and they are will be hosting a month-long celebration, featuring a gigantic cake. There will also be challenges with sweet rewards, and a for the first time ever, cats! Cryptic Studios is ready to celebrate the 9th anniversary of Champions Online. To do so, they're cracking out both cake and cats. Over the course of the month-long celebration, players can take on "exciting challenges" for rewards and stuff themselves silly with a giant cake. In addition, "Champions can risk one of their nine lives to participate in the game's newest mission, to rescue stray cats from trees throughout Millennium City". But that's not all - for the first time, you'll be able to perform the most important task ever assigned to a superhero - saving cats stuck in trees! In celebration of our "nine lives," it's the purrfect opportunity to introduce a brand new mission. All over the city, you'll be able to find out feline friends, stuck in the flora and unable to escape. Grabbing a slice of cake will grant you 100% bonus XP and a 20% bonus drop rate for 2 hours. Be sure to swing by on Aion’s special Daeva Day, September 22, to get a super-boosted cake buff granting 200% bonus XP and a 50% drop rate for 6 hours!
