This week’s Around the Verse does touch on the 3.4 release of Star Citizen, but the big news is definitely from Squadron 42, which has released its big roadmap as promised. While Roberts says the Star Citizen spinoff game is “definitely on the downhill slope right now” and most of the game’s main features will be finished by the end of 2019, the AI is the major “unknown risk.” Right now the alpha is projected for early 2020 and then beta by Q2 2020. In Star Citizen business news, it looks like that investment round that’s been kicked around Reddit for the last few weeks is a real thing. As the “investment fact sheet” confirms, the Cloud Imperium conglom raised an additional $46 million from private investment firms (“Clive Calder’s family office and Keith Calder’s Snoot Entertainment”), to bring Cloud Imperium’s total “money valuation” to $496 million. The Warcraft universe comes to Heroes of the Storm with new Alterac Pass Map The Warcraft universe has come to the Nexus in a big way with the arrival of Alterac Pass, now live on the Heroes of the Storm PTR! This new three-lane battleground is inspired by the iconic World of Warcraft battleground Alterac Valley. In additional, we’re welcoming a new Warcraft Hero to the fray—Yrel, the first-ever Draenei to enter the Nexus. You can also test your mettle in the epic Echoes of Alterac in-game event, which asks you to declare your allegiance for the Horde or the Alliance. Heroes of the Storm Adds Warchrome Wastes and Hero Reworks A new Heroes of the Storm patch is now live. The update bringing new tweaks to the Nexus—including the Warchrome Wastes event, Hero reworks, and more The Warchrome Wastes make up a gritty wasteland located at the farthest reaches of the Nexus. To ensure you’re ready for this hellish new landscape, new skins and a new mount are also now available: Vile Azmodan, Diesel Speaker Nazeebo, Roadraider Raynor, and the Helldorado Speeder Bike. First off with some business to attend to that is Blaugust related.  The very awesome Chestnut has been maintaining a twitter list of all of the folks participating in Blaugust 2018 that are on that platform.  Next up I was asked to participate in a couple of blogs, one with recording a promo that they could edit in and another actually sitting down and talking a bit about the event.  Those have both made their way into production as it were, and first off you have my promo that appears near the tail end of Geek to Geek Podcast with Void and Beej.  Next up I recorded a bit with Syp at the tail end of the Massively OP Podcast, but in both of these cases you should totally listen to the entire show because they are excellent.  I always enjoy the conversations that happen between Void and Beej and then  Syp and Bree as well so two shows always worth listening to.
