If you thought that all Samhain had to offer was official Secret World Legends missions and events, you’d be mistaken. A-machete-through-the-skull sorely mistaken. In fact, there are quite a few more ways to partake in the holiday, and many of these have been scared up by the community. There are live in-game events, contests, and real life events that run  between now and All Hallow’s Eve. For those really good with knives and other sharp things there is real-life pumpkin carving contest. If you are better at costuming, there’s a masquerade. Creative folks can jump in the poetry and art contests or the storytelling. There’s even a dev stream with raffles that will highlight an in-game scavenger hunt. I really enjoy being a guest on Larry Everett‘s video series Massively Opinionated, a series in which MMO enthusiasts answer some tough questions and argue the case for their answer to trump the other guests’ submissions. On each episode, Larry asks his guests to design their own MMO based on certain prerequisites or criteria. It’s a really fun question in which the answers are only limited by the question parameters and the panelists’ imaginations, so it’s not surprising that it’s my favourite question type on the show. On one particular episode of Massively Opinionated, we were asked to design a sticky MMO that really grips players for a prolonged period of time. First off I need to start this mornings blog post with a spoiler warning.  If you have not played through the first mission in the Destiny 2 Forsaken mission, then there are going to be spoilers included.  Granted probably nothing more than was already spoiled with the Forsaken trailer, but I just felt like I needed to throw that out there.  This weekend I spent some time playing Destiny 2 and while working on the Heroic Story mission queue I noticed one of the missions was “Prison Break” the first mission in the Forsaken storyline, and something I had not played through in awhile.  I remembered really liking it a lot and opted to go replay it for powerful gear credit. The Liebster The Liebster award is this strange thing that circulates through the blogosphere every so often.  The idea is that you answer some stuff about yourself and then nominate some other people you know to answer a set of your questions.  It’s a cute “get to know you” process that I ultimately I have enjoyed reading in the past from other blogs.  This morning the ever awesome Mystical Mesmer blog included me in their nomination form, and as such I will  be taking their quiz.  The problem is..  I have to fess up and say that I was nominated before and somehow missed it.  I tend to read blogs in bursts, rather than daily… so there are times it will take me days to catch up.  During one of these lulls the ever awesome Zuulzilla nominated me, and I did not find out until a truly embarrassing amount of time had passed.  As such I never actually got around to filling her form out.  This morning I am going to do … [Read more...] about Liebster Award Questionnaire
