Blade and Soul is pretty much a household name at this point. It’s not super popular – not in the same AAA vein as World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2. But it has been a corner stone or reference point for pretty much every Asian MMO that has come out since. The “Auto Chess” genre is getting some steam behind it, and starting on July 3rd, Tencent throws their hat into the ring. Chess Rush will feature over 50 heroes that will auto-battle on an 8×8 board, and also supports online co-op play. Chess Rush will let players take part in classic matches or faster turbo matches on their mobile devices. In Chess Rush, 8 players will take part in battles, and by defeating the other 7 players, you can claim victory. Turbo Mode will be faster, 10-minute matches, and for players that want to compete with friends, there will be a co-op mode, letting players invite their friends to take on other co-op teams around the world. Co-Op mode will feature four teams of two, each doing battle. There are over 50 heroes in Chess Rush, and strategy will be key, as formation and heroes chosen will matter a great deal. Tencent Games has thrown their hat into the ring of auto battlers with the announcment of 'Chess Rush'. With how popular Dota Underlords, Teamfight Tactics, and Dota Auto Chess are, this shouldn't be too surprising. Chess Rush will be available exclusively for mobile and will feature 8 players in a single game. A list of features include: Over 50 heroes to choose from to build your ultimate formation Level up heroes by combining three of the same and gain Affinity Bonuses to equip your heroes with items Compete on an 8x8 board Battle against 7 other opponents to be King of the Board Play classic mode or quick 10-minute matches in Turbo Mode Compete with your friends and take on other teams in co-op mode There's no official release date just yet, but Tencent has tweeted that the game is "just days away from official release", so it should come later this week. Can we make ourselves any smarter? The answer to that particular question is still a puzzle, trying to be solved by scientists all over the world. The most common measure of how smart a person boils down to a simple calculation, known as the Intelligence Quotient or IQ. While there have been papers published stating how brain exercises could help people improve their IQ’s, there has also been researched papers published opposing the said notion. A study published in 2008, led by Susanne Jaeggi, now a professor at The University of California at Irvine, conducted tests which reflected on how ‘fluid intelligence’ or the ability to solve novel problems works. The test sample was divided into two groups each, one training and one control group.
