The first major batch of updates has come to the Red Dead Online beta, bringing with it new gameplay features, weapons, clothing, and more. The game’s new daily challenges will give players a good reason to shake up their gameplay routines, as each of the constantly rotating challenges — which task players with doing “everything from skinning animals to finding treasure, winning feuds, and more” — will award gold nuggets and XP, with an additional reward for completing all seven challenges each day. And starting next week, players will be able to take part in the new Free Roam Event, Fool’s Gold, “where players fight to wear a protective suit of Golden Armor.” Further down the line, players can also look forward to Target Races — a horse race and an archery challenge in one — and the most competitive of all multiplayer content, Fishing Challenges. The update also introduces the new Rare Shotgun, “a beautifully engraved, … [Read more...] about Red Dead Online’s latest update adds daily challenges, new events, and more

Top Tips Before Playing Anthem This Weekend From Lead Producer Michael Gamble
Bioware’s narrative driven looter-shooter and MMO Anthem’s release is just around the corner. Releasing February 15th for Origin Premiere players, the game will be available for pre-load on the Origin platform this Valentine’s day. The game has had two demo weekends already, and needless to say we’re all hyped at fully exploring this rich new world. From reliving our fantastic flying and combat on our Javelins to learning more about the story, there’s so much to accomplish once the game goes live. With that in mind, we’re sharing on Anthem’s Lead Producer Michael Gamble’s top tips before the game’s head start begins. 1. Please try to avoid spoiling the story for anyone. If you care about story, be careful watching streams. This one’s pretty straightforward. We know Bioware is all about story, and from the demo we do snippets of it, detailing the world and premise alongside characters we meet. Plenty of players don’t want … [Read more...] about Top Tips Before Playing Anthem This Weekend From Lead Producer Michael Gamble
Weekend Weapon Haul
Pretty much the highlight of the weekend for me was that I got to join in the shenanigans of the Last Wish raid in Destiny 2. This mornings post is largely going to be a rundown of the items that I got to drop this weekend. It was also the farm weekend for the IKELOS shotgun, and unfortunately as of yet I have not seen one drop. I have lost count on just how many times I have killed the level 7 escalation protocol, but it has been enough that I am starting to doubt it exists. Like the paranoia in the back of my head keeps telling me that I must not be keyed for getting loot of the boss. I do however have a huge stack of shaders that drop every single time you down it. I sincerely doubt that tonight I will get enough kills of Escalation Protocol to make a difference, and in truth it seems to be hard to find anyone actually doing it. My friend Warenwolf managed to pull me into a group, so I am guessing this is regional? I wish there was a … [Read more...] about Weekend Weapon Haul
Challenges and Division
Last night unsurprisingly I spent most of the night playing Anthem, and noticed that the lighting in the launch bay is really rather good. They should add a photo mode functionality in here so you could get good shots of your javelin for all the fashionlancers out there. I also spent a good deal of the night hanging out with friends on voice, even though we weren’t actually doing the same things. One more friend made it through the final quest in the main story, so looking forward to maybe just maybe having a group that will be ready for shenanigans soon. In the meantime I have been working on various weapon achievements or challenges as the game calls them. I finished up the two weapons that I had related to Light Machine Gun and made an attempt to start on Machine Pistol… but I just do not think that weapon is as good as it should be. Since it has such a high rate of fire and such a relatively low operating time… it … [Read more...] about Challenges and Division

Frustrating Stutters This morning I am feeling relatively miserable. In truth I have felt extremely lousy since mid way through last week. The hacking and coughing and clearing of my throat just wears me out, and as a result of all of it my lungs are extremely pissed off at me. That said since the weather outside is brutal with lows in the teens each morning… I am perfectly content to stay bundled up inside. Yesterday it was my hope that I would be playing Dragon Age Inquisition, but even with a driver update there are still some issues. The issue I am having is that the game will quite literally be running at a locked 60 frames per second… then all the sudden it will freeze for a moment causing everything to stutter including the audio… then resume back at 60 frames per second as though nothing happened. The game is still playable, but extremely annoying since this seems to happy about once a minute. The most frustrating … [Read more...] about Talador Completed
