The riches of the eastern kingdom of Turan have arrived in Conan Exiles, Funcom’s open world survival game set in the brutal world of Conan the Barbarian. Available now on PC and PlayStation 4, and releasing soon on Xbox One, the new DLC introduces the opulent gilded palaces of Turanian culture to the savage Exiled Lands. In addition to more building styles, players will also find new armors and weapons, new warpaints, new placeables such as glittering statues and standing lamps, and two new pack animal pets: the richly adorned caravan Rhino and elephant. Funcom Releases Jewel of the West DLC for Conan Exiles Funcom has just released the second DLC for its best selling game Conan Exiles. The DLC, named Jewel of the West, introduces Aquilonia-themed building pieces, weapons, armor, furniture, and more. In Conan lore, Aquilonia is the center of the civilized world and the new content allow players to build homes and monuments in the grand style of this great nation. The DLC is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 at $9.99. In addition to this new DLC, the development team is also hard at work on one of the biggest free updates to the game yet. “The team is currently working hard on finalizing a massive free update that we’re aiming to launch in September,” says Creative Director Joel Bylos. “This update will introduce pets and taming, an entirely new gameplay feature. Conan Exiles developer Funcom continues the year-end tradition of almost every other company in the world of looking back at the past year and giving hints about what lies ahead in their latest newsletter, scantily-clad barbarians with Santa hats included. It’s been a very eventful year for the sandbox survival MMORPG with a total of 70 patches released across all platforms: 30 for the PC, 21 for the Xbox, and 19 patches on the PlayStation 4. “We’ve also released 4 paid DLC packs with new armors, weapons, building pieces, placeables and pet skins,” says the devs. “Shoutout to our amazing art team who have been working tirelessly on making all of these amazing looking extras.” As a brand new year comes around, Funcom says that they have more updates to roll out. “Come January 31st, the game will have been available for two years! Funcom has released a free, major update for Conan Exiles which includes a brand-new dungeon, a host of new items, area revamps and balancing tweaks. The update is now available on PC, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to follow soon. The Warmaker’s Sanctuary is the game’s new endgame dungeon, containing some of the toughest foes to date and a brutal showdown with The Warmaker’s Champion. The dungeon is the fourth to be released since launch one year ago. Several areas of the game have also received an overhaul, with new loot, recipes and bosses present all over Hyboria. Certain mechanics, including the temperature system, have also received attention from the developers, resulting in better balancing and a more intuitive functionality.
