Conan Exiles 2018: Is Conan Exiles Worth Playing At Launch Come May 8th?

Conan Exiles is Funcom’s take on an open world, survival Conan world where players write the stories and create the fun with the tools at their disposal. The game is finally exiting early access to launch globally on May 8th 2018, and much has changed. Since our review almost a year ago, the dev team has continued to iron out issues and improve gameplay based on early access feedback. Now that we’re a month away from launch, are the new changes worth checking out? Here’s what’s coming. A New Combat System The new combat system is very different and a huge improvement on the old one. The new system for Conan Exiles will have the brutal, tactical and savage combat which a Conan game deserves. The first thing you might notice is the new visual style. All weapons (swords, daggers, hammers, maces, spears, great swords etc) are getting their own attacks and animations. The attacks consist of a wide range of lunges, sweeps, jumps, cleaves, slashes and dashes. This … [Read more...] about Conan Exiles 2018: Is Conan Exiles Worth Playing At Launch Come May 8th?

Conan Exiles Peaks At 49k Concurrent Players On Launch Day

Conan Exiles has seen a steady decline in its playerbase since the game’s Early Access launch in January 2017. The open-world survival MMORPG peaked at 53k concurrent players in February 2017 dropping to a 3k-player average in just five months, mostly because of negative reviews on Steam. Surprisingly, Funcom was able to turn things around, regaining most of their playerbase when the game launched earlier this month. According to analytics tracking website GitHyp, the game peaked at 49k concurrent players on May 13th, just a few days after its May 8th launch date. The tracking site says that the game’s successful comeback is because of the developers’ dedication to improving the game. “When it debuted on Steam, feedback from players was Mixed with many complaining that the $29.99 game was unplayable in its current state,” says GitHyp. “Since coming out of early access last week with a $10 higher price tag, reviews from players have changed to Mostly … [Read more...] about Conan Exiles Peaks At 49k Concurrent Players On Launch Day

Conan Exiles Devs Say That ‘Work On The Game Is Not Slowing Down’

Conan Exiles. But, game development doesn’t really stop at launch day does it? Funcom’s weekly Conan Exiles newsletter reveals that the devs are still hard at work on improving the game and diligently taking care of any bugs and exploits that they find. “We’re one month (and then some) out from the full launch of Conan Exiles, but work on the game is not slowing down. There are still bugs to fix, exploits to remove and balancing and optimizations to implement, and since launch we’ve rolled out several hotfixes to improve various aspects of the game.” Unfortunately, there’s only so much the team can do. The dev team assures players, however, that they are aware of the problems and will be working on them once they’ve fixed more important issues. “Everything is getting its due diligence,” says the devs. “We may not be able to respond to everything we see, but we’re keeping track of bug reports and feedback from the … [Read more...] about Conan Exiles Devs Say That ‘Work On The Game Is Not Slowing Down’
