Conan Exiles Welcomes New Endgame Dungeon and Other Updates
Funcom has released a free, major update for Conan Exiles which includes a brand-new dungeon, a host of new items, area revamps and balancing tweaks. The update is now available on PC, with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to follow soon. The Warmaker’s Sanctuary is the game’s new endgame dungeon, containing some of the toughest foes to date and a brutal showdown with The Warmaker’s Champion. The dungeon is the fourth to be released since launch one year ago. Several areas of the game have also received an overhaul, with new loot, recipes and bosses present all over Hyboria. Certain mechanics, including the temperature system, have also received attention from the developers, resulting in better balancing and a more intuitive functionality. Returning to Conan Exiles: Praise for Funcom’s progress on PvE and PvP
As some of you may remember, I wasn’t terribly impressed with Conan Exiles when it first went into Early Access last year. It wasn’t exactly that the game was rough, but just more of the same: free-for-all PvP with people constantly zerg killing each other, now with slavery and some dragons! But Funcom has done a lot to flesh out the game since then. My GDC look at the game gave me hope, and although the PvE conflict switcharoo is really upsetting, I actually have to say that, mechanically, Funcom has won me over. While I normally track my playtime, I have to admit that I spent far too much time playing Exiles. Sadly, I didn’t get to experience clans, god summoning, purges, teleportation, massive battles, or slavery, but it wasn’t from a lack of trying. Conan Exiles has officially launched with 1M copies sold to date and a huge day-one patch
Funcom’s survivalbox Conan Exiles has officially shed early access and entered final launch as of today – that’s on PC, PS4, and Xbox One – having sold a reported one million copies in the lead up to release. You may have thought that last month’s patch – with the combat revamp and fast travel – was the big show, but you’d be wrong. In fact, there’s a huge download for the day-one patch (and patch notes) waiting for you no matter your platform. Conan Exiles is Funcom’s take on an open world, survival Conan world where players write the stories and create the fun with the tools at their disposal. The game is finally exiting early access to launch globally on May 8th 2018, and much has changed. Since our review almost a year ago, the dev team has continued to iron out issues and improve gameplay based on early access feedback. Now that we’re a month away from launch, are the new changes worth checking out? Here’s what’s coming. A New Combat System The new combat system is very different and a huge improvement on the old one. The new system for Conan Exiles will have the brutal, tactical and savage combat which a Conan game deserves. The first thing you might notice is the new visual style.
