I don’t feel like this is a controversial statement, and most long-term Marvel Heroes players would agree with me. I’ve put in hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars into this game, and I absolutely stand by the fact that Gazillion gave too much away for free and the company’s revenues suffered for it. Unfortunately by the time Gazillion was done kissing everyone’s feet to make up for how greedily they acted when the game launched, it was too late to go back and reduce those giveaways because it would push too many people away. The experience rates, boosts, speed of character acquisition, the costume blender: All great ideas if you want people’s good will, but good will doesn’t pay the bills. … [Read more...] about [Community] How Gazillion Entertainment Can Salvage Itself Post-Marvel

During my time playing the game they have made constant incremental changes to the experience. Originally the game asked you to essentially pick your free champion blindly, and now you can play any number of champions all to level 10 before finally choosing one to unlock all of the way to 60. This gives you time to get in and experience the way a champion performs before finally committing to it. In my case I have found that many of my favorite Comic Book heroes and anti-heroes… are not necessarily something that I want to play. For example I have always loved the Punisher, but the game play felt a little lacking since I am not a huge fan of ranged combat. On the other side of the coin… I have never really liked Captain America as a comic book… but playing as him is freaking amazing. He is this massive shield slinging badass that I love playing, and my friend Grace has a similar experience with Iceman ending up being the … [Read more...] about MMOs Worth Playing: Marvel Heroes
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Another year, another Assassin’s Creed game is up for an award. Odyssey does things that no other AC game in the past has done (see a trend here?). Players can now play as a male or female mercenary in a rich open world filled with story, lust and of course, gory combat. The biggest praise for AC Odyssey that we can give is that it’s by far the best one to date. On this gen’s graphics, the environment and world that the character operates in just comes to life, making the gameplay a lot more immersive than ever. There are some negatives as well, as more than the rest of the games on this list, it can be grindy as hell. … [Read more...] about Game Awards 2018: Who Should Win Game Of The Year 2018?
Stellaris is attracting controversy over a recent trailer showcasing voice overs coming in a future update. While the video itself (above) is pretty uncontroversial, the response is. Response to the militarist voice has been rather negative, with members of the community remarking that the gravely, snarling voice sounds out of line with what players expected from a militarist, with some speculating on the single line simply being a bad script or poor directing. … [Read more...] about Stellaris Director Blames Sexism For Poorly Received Voice Actress
Sony – 9 pm EST This was a really odd show as far as E3 showcases go. It started with a word from Shawn Layden… that essentially stated that we should not expect to see anything new. This was followed by a very lengthy banjo performance in this huge custom built set piece that looked like a church in a tent. Immediately following the banjo time we were treated with a new trailer for Last of Us Part II… where we find out the church tent stage design came from the game. Immediately following this however… there was a lengthy intermission as they asked every single person in attendance to move to another theater… at which point some generic commentators showed up and started commenting on their own show. Finally once we moved venues almost 20 minutes later… we were presented with a bamboo flute solo of some sort. Then finally after that… the show became a little more … [Read more...] about E3 Monday Roundup: Square Enix/Ubisoft/PC Gaming/Sony
