Hot on the heels of update 1.5 to Atlas comes this week’s Captains Log dev blog, which provides word of the Empire PvP server’s shutdown, details on in-game Easter, and a quick sneak peek at what’s coming in future patches. Let’s get to the server stuff first: As the headline stated, the Empire server is being shut down this Friday, April 19th, at 7:00 p.m. EDT to make way for an NA PvE server that uses the Colonies system. This is due to the fact that the Colonies and Settlements system is much more favored with players — a fact the devs assumed was the case, but felt needed testing just to be sure. That said, there still is a place for PvP in Atlas according to the devs: “We still believe that there is a place in the game for ambitious PvP players, and we believe that open-ended PvP is a really important and fun part of ATLAS. We want to find a way we can still support those goals whilst still keeping our more controlled and rule-based PvP.” … [Read more...] about Atlas shuts down the Empire server in favor of an NA PvE server and announces Easter plans
Find easter eggs games
gamigo is proud to announce they are getting ready for Spring, and with that comes a wealth of Easter-themed events across their portfolio of games. Until April 23rd, Echo of Soul players can collect painted eggs in exchange for rewards. Trove will have players attending Mount Parades, and gathering bonus Mount Talismans until April 23rd. The Spring Race is coming to ArcheAge as well, where players select a vehicle they can use to navigate around traps, in order to find the Daru Priests. Their goal is to receive the symbolic blessings of each Priest and celebrate their achievements by trading their Spring Race Tokens for rewards. Fiesta Online will have a special Kingdom Quest where players protect golden eggs from monsters. They, in turn, collect Easter eggs to exchange for rewards. Last Chaos will have a variety of events that have players going on egg hunts in Iris/Ascadia. The eggs offer rewards or can be used to complete the Easter quest series. It’s time for that most eggcellent spring holiday, Easter, and the world of RuneScape is celebrating with an eggcitingly eggstravagant in-game event. It involves eggs, in case you were wondering. The so-called Guilded Eggstravaganza centers around a fabulous Eastertime fete being hosted in Lumbridge, and all the guilds of Gielinor have come to display their assorted seasonal wares, and it’s up to players to assist some of the guilds in creating some magnificent Easter-y creations. In doing so, they’ll help the Chef’s Guild bake a cake pie (which, of course, is heresy); aid the Fishing Guild in the creation of the “borderline inedible, questionably unethical” piscine equivalent of the turducken, the swordsharkuna; and assist the Crafting Guild in decorating “an elaborate ornate egg.” On top of that, players will be able to hunt for elusive Guthix butterflies, which will reward their captors with a bunch of bonus XP. Players should also be … [Read more...] about Gather eggs and earn goodies in RuneScape’s Easter event
As of yesterday, Shroud of the Avatar‘s Release 64 is live. That includes the Spring Equinox content and food decorations promised in earlier updates. The update also adds some useful features as well as new items and dungeon encounters. With this update, guilds can now have a message of the day. As for the holiday events, the game is having its very first Easter egg hunt. To participate, players will need to search the game for Public Cache Chests with Easter eggs in them. If a player finds a named egg indicating a specific prize, they’ve won something. There are five prizes in total — including a 1st prize Player Owned Town Village Lot Property Deed, which seems pretty nice. Full details on the event and rewards are available in the latest set of patch notes. … [Read more...] about Shroud Of The Avatar Release 64 Is Live, Can You Find All Of The Easter Eggs?
If you were confused about just how multiplayer No Man’s Sky was going to be, welcome to the club. Inconsistent (or consistently contradictory) statements from Hello Games on the topic in the long lead up to launch didn’t help. But since the game’s launch yesterday, players have put it to the test, and we are… not really much closer to the truth. Kotaku reports on one pair of players who found themselves on the same planet and streamed their attempts to meet up, though it ended in failure. That prompted Hello Games’ Sean Murray to tweet that multiplayer (in the game he said was not multiplayer two days ago) is possible, has been anticipated, and will be encouraged. “Two players finding each other on a stream in the first day – that has blown my mind. We added a ‘scan for other players’ in the Galactic Map to try to encourage this happening. We wanted it to happen – but the first day? We want people to be aware … [Read more...] about No Man’s Sky, the non-multiplayer multiplayer game
