How do you feel about live events in single player games? I’m genuinely curious because I’m not quite sure how I feel about it myself. I’ve been playing a lot of Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed Origins lately, and both games employ a growing trend in Ubisoft titles. I am of course referring to live events in a single player game, of which I have had mostly positive reactions to. It is my opinion that live events should be something that the developer runs at the start both to bring in new players and to keep your current base playing in the long term. For Far Cry 5 this works to both bases, since Far Cry doesn’t have a traditional RPG system so you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything from the start. The rewards are so far things that the average player wouldn’t miss if they didn’t own the game at the time, and Ubisoft may or may not rotate them back in at a later date. RIFT Discusses Live and Prime Server Updates In Summer Letter Trion Worlds, the studio behind RIFT has released its summer 2018 producer’s letter. Coming six weeks after their spring letter, the studio appears to be hard at work, tweaking balance issues for souls and content. For players who like the Warrior class, it has been given some love with its Souls being tuned, so apparently its fun to play again. Other classes did get fixes as well. The letter starts of with these balances as a priority and mentions that it is an on-going process. High on the list of RIFT’s next to do’s are tweak Legendary Abilities and revamp Cleric healing and DPS. As someone who plays a Cleric, I am happy to hear this, especially for the Prime server. The Early Access release will be available initially as a single-player only experience but will add cooperative play in the coming months. The wait for Guild Wars 2’s Episode 3 is nearly over. Out June 26th, Long Live The Lich is the third episode in this Living World Season (4) cycle, and it comes with awesome new features. Here’s a quick rundown of 5 new features that should get you excited to jump back in. 5. New Roller Beetle Mount The Path of Fire expansion last September introduced 5 new mounts, and this week we’ll be getting a brand new sixth mount! At long last, the reveal trailer showed off the Roller Beetle, a staple animal in the Elona region that dates back to Guild Wars – the first game.
