STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games Black Desert VS Blade & Soul 2016 Special

I figured the first article of this year should be one my most commonly asked question and no, it's not another question about my mysterious identity or gender. It's a question regarding whether they should play Black Desert or Blade & Soul! It's going to be one long article, so I hope you're ready for it. Introduction - About Me I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't know me, since I'm a ninja and all. I'd like to say I'm pretty experienced with both games having played them for over a year or two and longer. Both games were my main MMORPG during the early beta phases and releases in various languages. I played the CBT, OBT, and release of Blade & Soul since the early 2012~2015 on and off and Black Desert 2013~2015. You can find my ancient videos on my Youtube Page or my site. I figured now would be the best time to write about both games given I'm not as actively playing them anymore, which can rule out favoritism or that "fresh" new video game feeling. Honestly, I … [Read more...] about STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games Black Desert VS Blade & Soul 2016 Special

MapleStory 2 Closed Beta Impressions

I don’t have a lot of MapleStory 1 experience, so I have no real expectations or preconceived notions about MapleStory. I’ve played some MapleStory, but the 2D side-scrolling MMO did not really catch on with me. I’ve spent the past week or so really digging deep in MapleStory 2 though, as we’re in the middle of the current Closed Beta testing period and I have to say, that so far, I have absolutely loved it. MapleStory 2 is a 3D MMORPG set in the MapleStory universe, where you pick one of eight fantasy classes (or seven and Heavy Gunner) and explore an adorable world absolutely stuffed to the gills with content. This is a world in peril, despite being incredibly cute, and it’s up to you to set out and set things right, going on adventures, meeting new people, and undertaking dangerous battles. Collecting cool mounts, summoning pets, designing and decorating a house – there’s really a lot going on here. I have yet to see a single P2W … [Read more...] about MapleStory 2 Closed Beta Impressions

STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games MU LEGEND Online Review of the 1st Closed Beta

Webzen's MU Legend Online 1st CBT had just ended and I've prepared a first look review to share my experiences. Just like all my other reviews, the article features a lot of videos for those that want to judge the game on their own. A lot of my viewers on my SteparuTV Youtube Channel had questions about this game so hopefully my review will shed some light on the lingering questions and an early insight of or preview of the game. Playable Characters - The Four The first beta had four playable gender locked characters which are Dark Lord, Whisperer, Blader, and War Mage. There is a 5th future playable character teased believed to be Summoner or something else new. Unfortunately, the character wasn't playable in this beta. There is a fair amount of customization for each class along with two different race selection for each job. I decided to skip the character creation process, this time around in an eager excitement to try the game out for the first time. Gameplay - Easy Peasy … [Read more...] about STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games MU LEGEND Online Review of the 1st Closed Beta

Capped for A Day

Morning folks… I am struggling today.  Both in the waking up department because there is simply not enough coffee in the world… and in the illness department because I seem to be coming down with whatever the hell is going around the office.  I’ve yet to decide if I can make it to work today, so we will see what happens between now and finishing this post but I am taking a breathing treatment as I type.  As far as the weekend I did a bunch of assorted gaming because that seems to be how I roll right now.  Instead of focusing hard on one thing I seem to be splitting my time between a bunch of things, and as a result I spent a good deal of time making tiny images and updated my “Recently Playing” sidebar.  It mostly follows the post I made last week with the major exception of me apparently forgetting to include Elder Scrolls Online which I still dip my toes into occasionally. In the Destiny 2 front I spent a good deal of the weekend … [Read more...] about Capped for A Day

Massively Overthinking: Our five favorite MMORPGs of all time

Earlier this week, Redditor maxpower888 started an epic thread on the /r/mmorpg sub asking everyone to chime in and name his or her top five MMORPGs of all time. I thought it was a nifty thread to skim to see how many times the same games kept popping up (and the same games turned up in combination with each other). “You can tell how old people are by their lists,” one gamer objected, but I don’t think that’s necessarily true! So for this week’s Overthinking, we’re going to join in the fun, then explain our choices and puzzle out what those choices say about us — don’t forget to click the entries to expand them for explanations! You should do the same down in the comments! Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Don’t forget to click each one for an explanation! #1: Asheron's CallI still think this is the game our genre needs to strive to return to, but in a modern way. Monthly updates with content. Developer lead but player controlled story … [Read more...] about Massively Overthinking: Our five favorite MMORPGs of all time
