Wait, what? Actually, we’re really talking about is a weirdly labeled content update. The mobile RPG is introducing many new guild features (levels, store, changeable logos), costume upgrades, the PvE coliseum, and in-game events. “From daily login rewards to free costumes and hot time rewards, players will surely have enough supplies for their mission to save the kingdom,” the team said. Mmm. Hot time rewards. NTales is a colorful-looking mobile 2-D MMO with a heavy emphasis on pet summons but also keeps players busy with raids and PvP. Back in 2017, at the height of mainstream outrage over lockbox shenanigans, Belgium became one of the very first countries to take the problem seriously (instead of just passing the buck). The Belgian committee assigned to investigate concluded in November that “the mixing of money and addiction is gambling” and pledged to ban them. At the end of April of this year, the country effectively did just that. Its Gaming Commission spent several months investigating multiple games, ultimately finding that Overwatch, FIFA 18, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive are operating in violation of its laws specifically because of their lockbox mechanics. MapleStory M is the mobile spinoff of the widely popular MMORPG MapleStory. The title has seen immense success since it launched in Korea back in 2016, the game quickly rose to the top of the charts with over two million downloads within the first two weeks. While the game doesn’t launch globally until later this year, players will be able to get their hands on the beta starting today. Those who take part in the beta will have the opportunity to check out five original characters. The full launch will feature daily dungeons, private mini-dungeons, a challenge tower, raids, and more.
