So it’s been a couple weeks since my last MMO news video. Christmas hit, New Years hit, and then.. well, there was a general lack of news in the genre. We’ll go ahead and start this off with some good news – news that I believe every fan of the genre needs to hear. In sadder news, Rose Online will be shutting down on February 11, 2019. WarpPortal, the publisher behind the game announced the closure via their official Facebook page. Next up we have a juicy new release from NCSoft. Actually, this is their very first mobile RPG released in the West thus far but from what I’ve learned.. mobile games, especially MMOs are all the same so it really isn’t likely to be much of a challenge. QC Games, the team behind the upcoming ARPG “Breach” have announced that the game is currently purchasable via Steam starting at $25 and finishing at $100. With the ridiculous success and popularity of the Battle Royale genre, every game developer … [Read more...] about MMORPG News: WE GOT NEW MMOs, BOYS! Good news week
Crowfall announced last week that they would be delaying its testing phase. Whether this is good or bad news for you depends on whether you want something poorly optimized merely for the sake of playing it. Good news for fans of the upcoming scifi themed space sandbox MMORPG, Dual Universe: Novaquark, the team behind the game have announced that they will be expanding their studio by hiring a team of up to 50 people in Montreal. This one’s strange. Honestly, I’m excited for Ship of Heroes. Why? Because it looks as though it could potentially be a very, very cool new superhero themed MMORPG. Like seemingly every other MMORPG, EverQuest, next month, will be rolling out their new progression servers; servers aimed at providing a “classic experience” to players. This one is a little different as I’d rather mention the company as a whole. Speaking of MapleStory, Nexon have announced a new “Project New Leaf” for MapleStory 2. This … [Read more...] about MMORPG News: Moonlight Blade Update, Albion Online, Crowfall Delay, Bless, Lineage II Classic
If you thought Ashes of Creation focusing on the Apocalypse Battle Royale or Black Desert Online announcing their Shadow Arena Battle Royale were both exciting – then you’ll love this. I’d covered Pagan Online once in the past when I made note of their server issues that all but shuttered their alpha test. Aion has a large new content patch coming on March 27th titled “Ereshkigal’s Wrath” – I hate that name, by the way, really difficult to pronounce. The update will bring with it new skills, transformations, instances and more. If you’re into failed MMOs relaunching, then you’ll love this. Gameforge, the team behind the upcoming re-release of Guardians of Ember have announced that it’s heading into open beta next week. And guess who’s gonna be there to do a video on it? For those of you excited about Bless Unleashed, yes, all three of you, then you’ll no doubt revel in the news that the game is … [Read more...] about MMORPG News: Peria Chronicles, Crowfall, Pagan Online, Guardians of Ember
