Guild Wars 2 has released its latest mount this week, the Warclaw. Unlike previous mounts, the Warclaw is uniquely different from the rest. For starters, it can only be obtained via World vs World PvP. The mount itself is made for that mode, with abilities that may alter the way you play in WvW. It can finish off downed players for example, all damage doors as a siege support. While it’s useless outside of WvW in PvE, the latter players will still want the mount for their collections. Therefore, here’s a quick rundown of what you need to do in order to get the Warclaw mount. Enter The Mists And World vs World If you’re new to Guild Wars 2 or WvW in general, fret now. Guild Wars 2’s tri-realm PvP mode is fun, hectic and rewarding when the stars align. These days, it’s a shadow of its former self, but activity levels have drastically picked up in thanks to this mount. So to access WvW, simply hit the B hot-key. That brings up the Mists War panel, showing you … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: How To Unlock The Warclaw Mount Guide

It’s been more than 7 months since Steven touched on PVP and metabattle. He proposed that jumping on the metabattle bandwagon could make you the PvP problem but I’ve been swinging swords on various accounts over recent months and I don’t think PvP really needs a moratorium on metabattle. Instead, this month’s PvP lets play with community partner Jebro highlighted more fundamental issues with Guild Wars 2’s competitive game. advertisement It is always great to see Jebro’s unadulterated enthusiasm for Guild Wars 2 and the community he surrounds himself with. The Engineer form the old world has been in the trenches with the PvP community since the early days of Guild Wars 2, initially starting out as a WvW commander and then progressing on to cast some of the game’s biggest PvP moments. This is a creator that carries some authority. For many of the wider Guild Wars 2 community, he is most likely the single recognizable face in a … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2 PvP – Automated Atrophy?
Is Guild Wars 2 starting to wrap up and wind down? Honestly, I would never have thought so. I still don’t, not really. Guild Wars 2 continues to be a popular and populated game that makes a decent amount of cash for ArenaNet and NCsoft (although not as much as some of NCsoft’s eastern titles). It’s been getting a content update every few months and an expansion every other year. If you were to rank the top 10 healthiest and actively discussed MMOs right now, I’m pretty sure that GW2 would be in the top 5. To me, it seems that this MMO is firmly in its middle years where it’s found its groove and pattern, and we should be in for that for a while barring any unforeseen circumstances. Yet. Yet I’ve heard rumblings. Massively OP’s Tina, who knows this game better than anyone else I’ve met, mentioned on the podcast a growing concern among the community — a perception — that GW2 may be preparing to end. The issue here, she … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: What future does this MMO hold?
Updated in November 2015: Welcome to Guild Wars 2, new players! :) With the exception of the image of Lion’s Arch, this guide is up-to-date. *** After you have created your character, you will be in a short tutorial. This is in an instanced area where switching is not possible yet. Play through it first and defeat the boss at the end. If you bought Guild Wars 2, then you’re ready to switch to whatever area you would like to go once you are out of the tutorial. If you are a free player, then your character needs to hit level 10 before you can switch. Lion’s Arch is blocked for you until level 35. All races’ cities are connected with each other through asura portals in Lion’s Arch. So if you want to get to another starter area, you need to go to Lion’s Arch first. If you are low level, you need to travel through your race’s capital: Rata Sum for Asura, The Grove for Sylvari, Divinity’s Reach for Humans, Black Citadel for Charr and Hoelbrak … [Read more...] about How to switch between the starter areas in Guild Wars 2
