So, full disclosure: I wasn’t very happy with Heart of Thorns. I enjoyed vanilla Guild Wars 2, with a few notable exceptions: my main class wasn’t very strong, everyone was on a different server, things of that nature. But Heart of Thorns was pretty pricey for an expansion, and on top of that, if you didn’t do the “Living World” content while it was still fresh and hot, you had to spend money on it in order to progress. That was a crippling blow to my interest as a whole. Overall, I did not have the same fun that I had with the vanilla game. The mastery felt awkward, clunky and unclear, and the maps, while large, felt pretty empty. They were, however, very pretty. That much hasn’t changed. We had about a month or so to get ready before we began our hunt … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire Review
With Guild Wars 2’s update this week, some quality of life changes has been made to the game’s harvesting and crafting. Unlimited use tools now have upgrade slots, which players can attach glyphs to. These glyphs provide stat enhancers not for combat however, and instead offer players other benefits such as increasing gathering speed. See below for the list of stats: Glyph of the Tailor: Gain a 33% chance to receive bonus cloth scraps. Glyph of the Leatherworker: Gain a 33% chance to receive bonus leather scraps. Glyph of Industry: Gathering completes 50% faster. Glyph of Flight: Increases movement speed for 5 seconds after gathering completes. The game is offering all players (Non F2P) a free glyph from the in-game store to use, but assuming you have more than one unlimited tool, you’ll need to get the rest. So where do they drop from? Something To Gamble On The answer lies within the Black Lion Chests, or the game’s RNG lockbox. Glyphs … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: Do Players Really Need Stats On Their Harvesting Tools?

Forget Your Traditional MMO Questing Experience One of the biggest changes players will feel when coming from other MMOs is the questing and PvE experience. As a new player coming out of your starter zone, you’ll obviously want to quest for XP. The thing is, Guild Wars 2 doesn’t offer the traditional questing experience. There isn’t a reliance to go speak to NPCs to ‘pick up’ quests, then return for rewards. In Tyria, there will be Tasks, or Gold Hearts found throughout every map. When you get close to one, the … [Read more...] about Top 5 Guild Wars 2 New Player Tips 2018
