End game content is a subjective term for the Guild Wars 2 community and the gaming community at large. We tend to think of it as completion of the game’s ultimate challenges. In Final Fantasy 7, it’s well known Sephiroth, the final boss, wasn’t even the toughest opponent in the game. That honour fell to Ruby or Emerald Weapon. Both bosses are monstrously challenging even today, and provide a deeper level of challenge to the game that can’t be overcome by spamming Knights Of The Round and Mimic. … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: The End(game)
ArenaNet is typically focused on story content and I suppose kind of the role-play aspects of the game as well. From designing your perfect character to your impact on the world and I think perhaps ArenaNet does not market raids as much as they could. It's sad to me because the actual gameplay in this game for those two modes, PvP and World vs World, in particular, are industry-leading. The combat system is absolutely fantastic and the World vs World, again, is a very it's a fun game mode. From just going in for a bit of fun with your mates to, you could also play hardcore as well. There's a lot of customization, a lot of room for different ideas and these modes are absolutely cutting edge in my opinion. Even if the game was released now a lot of them, mechanically speaking, are still ahead of the curve. … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: A Mighty ERP Approaches
So, what’s our big goal here? It’s to do battle with Balthazar, the God of War! Makes sense, right? He’s out in the Crystal Desert somewhere, and we’re going to go hunt him and his minions down, dole out some justice, and save Tyria. So far there are three acts, where you and your guild of NPCs undergo mission after mission. Now, you can complete the entire story in a weekend (or less if you really rush). I did not though because I’ve really found myself exploring the world, trying to get as many Heroic Points, etc. My character was a fresh 80, so I wanted to do it for myself and for my character. The gameplay’s the same though; you help out communities, explore, delve deep into this story, and watch as your team grows and evolves as personalities. That’s one thing that Guild Wars 2 will never lack: Character development. You have a crew of helpful heroes with you to tackle this problem, and they’re all different, unique characters. … [Read more...] about Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire Review
With the expansion on the way, and the amazing job ArenaNet has done with their living world updates, I can’t help but feel like ArenaNet has pursued their promise of a growing, changing, dynamic world, even if they didn’t always hit the mark on every single update. Where will the next expansion take us? Will we see new mounts? Will we see old regions in a new light? There is still endless adventure out there to be had, and while my musings on some of my personal shortcomings may reveal a modicum of disenchantment, make no mistake, I wait with bated breath for what is next. Whether you have been playing since launch, or you have lost interested in entering the world of Tyria, speak out, is it time to see Guild Wars 2 wind down for Guild Wars 3, or is there still a lot of life left in this sleeping dragon? … [Read more...] about Is it Time for Guild Wars 3?
