The PlayStation 4 beta has started this week for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, the highly anticipated massive expansion to Capcom’s best-selling title of all time, Monster Hunter: World. First-time hunters and established series fans can prepare for hunting season with a sneak peek at the upcoming content in Iceborne, including the chilly Hoarfrost Reach locale, new monster and new gameplay options. The first Monster Hunter World: Iceborne beta will be available exclusively for PlayStation®Plus users from 3am PDT/11am BST on Friday, June 21 through 3am PDT/11am BST on Monday, June 24. A second beta will be available for all PS4™ users from 3am PDT/11am BST on Friday, June 28 through 3am PDT/11am BST on Monday, July 1. Ever wondered in a direct comparison of Monster Hunter: World vs Dauntless, which game comes out top? The monster hunting genre is now being propelled to the spotlight no small thanks to these two games. And at the moment, both are available for play with Dauntless being in open beta on the PC, while MHW has also released its PC port on Steam. Gameplay Dauntless and MHW share a lot in common – both are about hunting monsters in group. What separates the two games? Dauntless’s combat is a strong point, it has weight and feels good when executing attacks and it’s fast paced. You have combos that can be unleashed using your left and right clicks. Holding down TAB will bring up the cheat sheet for attacks, so be sure to take a look at that. The hunts themselves are good fun. Hey fellow hunter! Did you also enjoy the Monster Hunter World weekend betas as I did? Wondering if the full version is the same? Well here’s the short answer: Nope! Article finished, time to go back to hunting. Just kidding! While the release version of the game isn’t the same as what you played, it’s still recognizably a Monster Hunter game. We’ll talk more about the online experience once the game’s been released to the masses for awhile, but a few hours in with a review copy of the launch product have answered some questions and concerns that came up during my beta experience. Well, that never happens!
