Fortnite player arrested for threatening to kill an 11-year-old opponent

This week in why we can’t have nice things, a grown man apparently threatened to kill a little kid who beat him in Fortnite. Yesterday, New York’s News 12 reported on the arrest of the 45-year-old man, Michael Aliperti, who was arraigned by police for aggravated harassment and “acting in a manner to injure a child.” Police say he used his XBox to threaten to shoot the 11-year-old who’d just dunked on him in Fortnite, even telling the kid he knew where he went to school. Yikes. “Mr. Alperti did not directly threaten the school, but he did threaten the 11-year-old stating he knew where he went to school, so that was good enough for us,” police told the news station, noting that security patrols at the school have been increased. Hey, maybe just don’t threaten anybody over a freakin’ video game, especially one designed such that you almost never win anyway, then you’ll never find yourself in the middle of a school shooting threat … [Read more...] about Fortnite player arrested for threatening to kill an 11-year-old opponent

Donald Trump and the Triumph of the Common Man

This week Donald J. Trump defied the odds and was elected President of the United States of America. Americans from all walks of life rose up and said “enough” and elected Trump as their champion. It was a victory that sent shock waves all around the world. It was a triumph for the common man who rebelled against the elites who have become the de facto ruling aristocracy here in America. From the beginning of the campaign, Donald Trump distinguished himself from his fellow Republican candiates with a tonic of straight talk free of the shackles of political correctness that seeks to silence and control. Truth telling politicians are so rare that by virtue of telling the truth Trump stood out like a comet on a starry night. Trump dared to tell the truth and those that voted for him loved him for it. Trump’s brash demeanor and straight talk immediately resonated with a public weary and beaten down by 8 years of Obama’s progressive ideology. You know what? … [Read more...] about Donald Trump and the Triumph of the Common Man

In Plain English: No, Epic Games Isn’t Suing A 14 Year Old Just For Cheating

Epic Games has made some news this month over the announcement that they are filing lawsuits against people cheating in Fortnite. How many lawsuits? This many, so far: One particular lawsuit has caught greater attention because it turns out that the defendant is 14 years old. Epic Games filed a complaint against Caleb Rogers, or Sky Orbit as he is known on Youtube, one month ago for copyright infringement and breach of contract under North Carolina law. The lawsuit here stems from multiple DMCA stikes against the defendant’s channel by Epic Games, taking down videos showcasing and promoting cheating in the video game Fortnite. The defendant appealed said strikes, and under copyright law the only avenue going further for Epic Games is to file a lawsuit. Further, Defendant is streaming videos of himself playing and cheating at Fortnite by using cheat software (“cheats” or “hacks”) to unlawfully modify Fortnite’s software. In the videos Defendant posts … [Read more...] about In Plain English: No, Epic Games Isn’t Suing A 14 Year Old Just For Cheating

The Sims Medieval: A Day In Ye Olde Life

They say behind every great kingdom, there is a great king. Or at least I think they do, anyway. For the charming, picturesque kingdom of Fairhaven, this man was Lord Wellic Kyranny. He loves family (which doesn’t really mean much, ’cause he hasn’t got one), is friendly (only when he needs something from you), and his fatal flaw is being uncouth. But seriously, can uncouth really be considered a fatal flaw when you’re a king? It’s not like being a merchant or anything, where being a total boorish and vulgar clod would actually hurt your livelihood. On the other hand, who’d dare gainsay a king? Now, Lord Wellic isn’t a bad man. He’s just…pragmatic. And feeling a little tired in the above screenshot. Hey, give him a break, running the kingdom is hard work! But don’t just take my word for it, let Lord Wellic take you on a tour of a typical day in his life as king of Fairhaven. Early in the morning, the day begins with a hearty … [Read more...] about The Sims Medieval: A Day In Ye Olde Life
