So all the way back in May of 2017, I made a video titled “The Best Free To Play Anime MMORPGs To Play RIGHT NOW In 2017!”. It has since gone on to gain almost 800,000 views, thousands of comments, and thousands of likes. Over the course of the year my likes and dislikes in terms of MMORPGs have changed quite drastically. I recall listing games like Maplestory, Eden Eternal and Twin Saga as Anime MMORPGs I thoroughly enjoyed, when in reality I believe those games no longer hold any semblance of relevancy. Stix did do a video on upcoming Anime MMORPGs just last month titled “4 Upcoming Anime MMORPGs You Absolutely NEED To Play In 2018 And Beyond!” if you’re interested in a few Anime titles to look forward to as well. Now, regarding what I believe should be listed.. Alright, so starting off at number 10 is Bless Online. Graphically speaking, Bless Online looks great. It does. There’s no denying that. It has giant beautiful open world landscapes, … [Read more...] about The Best Free To Play Anime MMORPGs To Play RIGHT NOW In 2018!
Now I am going to be taking a relatively different approach to this video as opposed to the norm: Instead of simply going through parts of the game one by one, I’m going to be discussing the game as a whole. If you’re looking for whether I think Soul Worker Online is or is not worth playing in 2017 you’re likely going to want to jump ahead to the end of this video. Otherwise, by all means, continue watching. Now when looking for an MMORPG you have to take several things into consideration. GRAPHICSGAMEPLAYMUSICSTORY Soul Worker has a lot of things going for it but at the same time it does get held back by the fact that it isn’t a traditional MMORPG. Being restricted to running dungeons repeatedly makes for repetitive gameplay and the lack of a sense of exploration and discovery definitely hurts your ability to find new things to see and do. Nevertheless, this genre of MMORPG is still semi-popular, being that there are still several MMORPGs such as … [Read more...] about Is Soul Worker Online Worth Playing In 2017/2018? Before I get into anything, I would like to inform you guys that this list will be a continuation to our previous Top free to play MMORPG list, and therefore none of the games listed there will be found in this list, thus it being (Part 2)! With that out of the way, I’ll be talking to you guys about what I believe are The Best Free To Play MMORPGs (discluding the previously mentioned MMOs.) One of the very few superhero MMORPGs on the market. Although admittedly not as good in my opinion gameplay-wise, Champions Online is nevertheless an incredibly entertaining MMORPG. It has a lesser focus on story elements and a larger emphasis on freedom to do what you want and create what you want than its competitor, DC Universe Online. I am not comparing the two, simply stating that the reason Champions Online is on this list is because of the freedom the game gives you and the quirky style of game it is. From what we’ve seen it doesn’t take itself seriously. And that … [Read more...] about The Best Free To Play MMORPGs Of 2017
It’s been a while since we last talked to Derek Smart. A year and a half, almost, if you’ve been keeping count. Last time we talked about Quest Online and Alganon, focusing on aspects of free to play and how Quest Online was promoting the game. With the approach of Line of Defense and a few changes over the past year in the free to play market, I thought it was about time to get back in touch. In the interview, we discuss Line of Defense including plans for the game’s monetization, the use of lockboxes in other titles, and some thoughts on the competition for Line of Defense. I always enjoy the opportunity to have a chat with Mr. Smart, he’s one of the few people I can trust to not hold back or filter his answers through a PR machine. You may know Derek Smart from Alganon, Line of Defense, as well as the Battlecruiser line of space simulators. Q. How will Line of Defense balance free to play with a premium model? Players gain Combat Experience Points (CEP) by … [Read more...] about Derek Smart Returns: Free To Play, Line of Defense, Lockboxes
I know what you’re thinking: “Omali, you clearly don’t have a punchline ready for this segment,” and you would be one hundred percent correct, but I have good news. In my continuing efforts to branch MMO Fallout from the normalcy of sarcastic comments, random videos, rants, sales, and “I told you so” moments, I’ve decided to start trying to get interviews with various developers, starting with my first phase: “How Free Can You Be?” I’ll be trying to get interviews with various free to play developers, about their outlook and particular take on the business model. So with fresh taser burns from my daily trash looting at the Bioware offices, I chatted with Derek Smart about Quest Online and Alganon. First off, I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy day to talk about Alganon and Quest Online. For those reading this who might not play Alganon, tell us a bit about Alganon and Quest Online and yourself. I have been a … [Read more...] about Derek Smart Talks: Alganon, Free To Play
