If you’re looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2, we can hardly blame you as it seems like half of the civilized world is looking forward to it at this point. But when you hear the people in charge of Rockstar boasting that the game has led to 100-hour workweeks for several employees in 2018, that may… dampen your enthusiasm somewhat. (For those of you who don’t feel like doing the math, that translates to almost 15-hour workdays every day… or 20-hour workdays and recovering sleep on the weekends.) So… yay, video games? It seems almost inconceivable that someone would brag about that, but perhaps it was just an outgrowth of the developers talking up some rather impressive stats around the game, like how the game sports over 300,000 animations and over 500,000 lines of dialogue voiced in the game. There’s also planning to make sure that the game’s online mode is every bit as robust as Grand Theft Auto Online, which… doesn’t really … [Read more...] about Rockstar boasts of 100-hour work weeks on Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 posts third trailer, sticks to October launch date
Red Dead Redemption 2’s new trailer is finally here (after an absurd amount of teasing and handwringing over what could be in it). Spoiler alert: It’s exactly what you expect out of a Wild West-era online RPG. And it’s gorgeous. And it, like Wild West Online’s recent announcement, seems properly poised to scoop up some Westworld season 2 hype while also playing with classic RDR fans’ nostalgia, as the gang is back from the original game. “After a robbery goes badly wrong in the western town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals and loyalty to the gang who raised him.” Rockstar’s site still says the … [Read more...] about Red Dead Redemption 2 posts third trailer, sticks to October launch date
Rockstar releases Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer
Earlier this week, Rockstar formally announced that it is working on Red Dead Redemption 2, due out fall of next year. “Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland,” says the official site. “The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.” One thing the website didn’t say? Whether or not RDR2 is coming to PC. The presence of only Xbox One and P4 logos sent the internet into a “PC or riot” tizzy, though we’d be surprised if PC weren’t an eventuality, given GTAO’s success. All of that is preamble for what Rockstar’s done for the game’s fans today, which is release a brand-new trailer as promised. We’ve tucked it below! Red Dead Redemption 2 announced for fall 2017 with ‘online multiplayer experience’
Rockstar made it official this morning: Red Dead Redemption 2 is on the way this time next year. Why are we writing about it here? This blurby right on the official site: “Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.” It’s currently marked for Xbox One and PS4, with no PC logo to be found, but as our tipster DK points out, Rockstar commonly bumps its games to PC eventually. Rockstar delays Red Dead Redemption 2 to 2018
Rockstar Games announced last night that it’s delayed Red Dead Redemption 2 to spring 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, a result of the fact that it’ll be Rockstar’s first rodeo on this generation of consoles and “some extra time is necessary.” “We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready,” writes the studio. It’s an interesting time for the game to be making headlines again. Rockstar began teasing the title last autumn, originally setting a fall 2017 date, releasing a trailer, talking up the “online multiplayer experience,” and leaving PC fans to fret they’d been forgotten. In just the past few weeks, it’s seen the rise of a challenger in the previously barren American West MMO subgenre in the form of Wild West Online, which is embracing both its MMO nature and the PC platform. Take-Two’s stock closed 9% down yesterday; … [Read more...] about Rockstar delays Red Dead Redemption 2 to 2018
