Vague Patch Notes: How to make your points and exit gracefully from online debates
It’s 2019, people. Let’s do this. And by do this I of course mean learn to actually debate things in a way that might wind up changing people’s minds, or at the very least not look like a phenomenal nitwit! It’s just that chanting all of that at once isn’t a very motivational thing to go for. Being on the old side of millennial means that I’ve seen a whole lot of different… let’s say stages of the internet. And there is some old and deep wisdom to be found in the earlier stages, in the days before likes and social media, when the only sign that you had “won” a debate wasn’t the counter of how many people clicked a heart icon but the sign that people talked to you and solicited your opinion. Since most online communities in those days consisted of five people, it was a little more open to granularity, but the point here is that you can still internalize this wisdom. So let’s talk about that … [Read more...] about Vague Patch Notes: How to make your points and exit gracefully from online debates

Non-Legendary End Chests in Neverwinter Will be Able to be Opened for Free
Cryptic's Jared "NoWorries" Sears has posted a new blog post on the Neverwinter site to show off some nice changes coming with the Heart of Fire module. One of the most interesting is that non-legendary end chests will be able to be opened for free -- meaning no key required! "Overall the key mechanic wasd frustrating, and needing to spend AD on keys for additional dungeon runs in a given day wasn't a great experience," Sears wrote. Players with existing keys will see them turned into reroll tokens that can be used to reroll the chest loot. In addition, salvage mechanics are changing either to "allow for better balancing of rewards". Heart of Fire brings with it a change to salvage and Rough Astral Diamonds. The biggest change being that no longer is leftover equipment salvaged into RAD but instead it all converts into Refinement Points. Dungeons/Heroic Encounters/Campaign Stores/Trade bar Store/Seals Stores/Stronghold Stores will all now grant RAD directly and other sources or … [Read more...] about Non-Legendary End Chests in Neverwinter Will be Able to be Opened for Free
Neverwinter plans changes to salvage and dungeon reward systems in Heart of Fire
Looks like there are some changes coming to Neverwinter’s salvage and dungeon reward systems in the upcoming Heart of Fire module, according to a recent update post on the official site. When Heart of Fire goes live, salvaging leftover equipment will no longer provide Rough Astral Diamonds. Instead, players will receive Refinement Points for salvaging gear. However, the post says that dungeons, heroic encounters, campaign stores, trade bar stores, seal stores, and stronghold stores “will all now grant RAD directly and other sources of RAD, such as Random Queues, still grant their RAD as they did before.” According to the post, this change “[allows] for better balancing of rewards and makes it easier to hand out gear without having to be as concerned with the economic effects that came with salvage.” On a related note, the salvage bonus for VIPs has been changed to provide a bonus to Rough Astral Diamonds received from dungeon end chests, heroic … [Read more...] about Neverwinter plans changes to salvage and dungeon reward systems in Heart of Fire
