Donald Trump and the Triumph of the Common Man
This week Donald J. Trump defied the odds and was elected President of the United States of America. Americans from all walks of life rose up and said “enough” and elected Trump as their champion. It was a victory that sent shock waves all around the world. It was a triumph for the common man who rebelled against the elites who have become the de facto ruling aristocracy here in America. From the beginning of the campaign, Donald Trump distinguished himself from his fellow Republican candiates with a tonic of straight talk free of the shackles of political correctness that seeks to silence and control. Truth telling politicians are so rare that by virtue of telling the truth Trump stood out like a comet on a starry night. Trump dared to tell the truth and those that voted for him loved him for it. Trump’s brash demeanor and straight talk immediately resonated with a public weary and beaten down by 8 years of Obama’s progressive ideology. You know what? … [Read more...] about Donald Trump and the Triumph of the Common Man
Rockstar delays Red Dead Redemption 2 to 2018
Rockstar Games announced last night that it’s delayed Red Dead Redemption 2 to spring 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, a result of the fact that it’ll be Rockstar’s first rodeo on this generation of consoles and “some extra time is necessary.” “We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready,” writes the studio. It’s an interesting time for the game to be making headlines again. Rockstar began teasing the title last autumn, originally setting a fall 2017 date, releasing a trailer, talking up the “online multiplayer experience,” and leaving PC fans to fret they’d been forgotten. In just the past few weeks, it’s seen the rise of a challenger in the previously barren American West MMO subgenre in the form of Wild West Online, which is embracing both its MMO nature and the PC platform. Take-Two’s stock closed 9% down yesterday; … [Read more...] about Rockstar delays Red Dead Redemption 2 to 2018
Slight Progress
Titan Improves This weekend once again was mostly a Destiny weekend for me, as I worked on both my Titan and my Hunter trying to slowly inch up their gear. On the Titan I hit a bit of a milestone, and finally pushed forward to get my light level… aka item level to 295. The funny thing about this is it seems to be a significant number, because I have noticed that a lot of things simply feel easier now. I spent a good bit of the weekend running the level 36 strikes, but as per Cortical’s suggestion I tried a few 20 strikes. The strange thing about them is… in some ways they seemed more difficult. At the very least the level 20 strikes seem to throw more cheap mobs at you, and I guess if you have really good AOE damage you can shred through them. Ironically I died far more often in the 20s than I normally do in the 36s so I think I am going to return to doing the slightly “harder” ones. I would rather have harder … [Read more...] about Slight Progress
Hands-on with Bless Reborn at Neowiz’s San Francisco media reveal
As you probably have heard, there was a Bless influencer event this week, with a couple of media and a smattering of MMO streamers in attendance. The leak of the price points happened soon before we went in, but none of the people in attendance, devs or streamers, really seemed fazed by it. Most people seemed ready to have a good time. For someone like me, who was initially blown away by Bless circa 2011, the game had fallen off my radar, especially after the game’s rocky trip to Russia and initial Korean release. The western build-up for me has felt like a big PR push, with the pricing model dangled like a feature that people actually should be excited about. Basic questions like, “How does endgame work?” were easier to find on Reddit, Steam, and fansites than any of the PR I was reading. I was concerned, to say the least, but things like “tame almost any mob!” and “100v100” battles intrigued me. Though nothing I saw is probably going to … [Read more...] about Hands-on with Bless Reborn at Neowiz’s San Francisco media reveal
