As far as gaming goes I spent the majority of the night playing Diablo 3 in little doses, but did manage to group up with my friend Grace during part of it. My lack of attention to detail and the fact that I am still under her level a bit… meant I largely spent the night dying a lot. That said I knocked out a few steps in the seasons journey and managed to gather up a few pieces of gear. I am one step away from completing Slayer… but that step requires me to do rounds of bounties until I gather enough crafting bits to cube a piece of jewelry. The challenge there however is that as the night went on I kept getting disconnected making a round of bounties impossible to complete. … [Read more...] about Bugout Bags and Hidey Holes

The Graphics As far as visuals go, Iron Sight is rock-solid. Or iron solid is perhaps more appropriate. At first glance, the game could easily be mistaken for a last-gen console shooter in the mold of notable FPS franchises such as Call of Duty, Tom Clancy or Medal of Honor. The graphics are good in general, but particularly for an F2P MMO. F2P MMOs are always a mixed bag in the graphics department, and you never know what you’re going to get, but the devs put in a lot of work here. The game runs on its’ own proprietary Iron Engine and the devs should be proud of the job they’ve done. … [Read more...] about Ironsight 2018 Review – Is This FPS Worth Playing?
Playing a class to its full potential involves more than simply learning its rotation and climbing the loot treadmill. It requires a deep understanding of the games mechanics, and the ability to predict your enemy’s movement. This is especially important in PvP, dueling in Blade and Soul is like playing chess. You constantly need to be one step ahead of your foe. … [Read more...] about Blade And Soul 2018 Review – Is Blade And Soul Worth Playing?
Before we get into all that, let’s touch on some of the things Anthem does right. For one, Anthem’s story turned out to be one of the game’s highlights for me. I don’t really care about story in an ARPG, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I found. The plot itself is simple and straightforward, but I really enjoyed my interactions with the game’s various characters, both major and minor. Performance capture in Anthem is some of the best I’ve ever seen and many of the characters are interesting (and often amusing) enough that I looked forward to speaking to them every time I returned to Fort Tarsis. Characters such as the awkward Sentinel Brin, the town gossip Neeson, and the hilarious pair of fashion designers Gunther and Marl all stuck with me. … [Read more...] about Anthem Review: Here We Go Again
GameplayAs someone who never had the “omg I want to go back to Vanilla” bug, I’ve surprisingly enjoyed playing a lot. Just running around the old zones and doing the old quests was refreshing, like visiting with long lost friends. Which considering some of these characters are dead in the retail version, it’s energizing to see them again. The quests themselves aren’t all that special. There are certain ones which are fun and interesting. I’m particularly fond of having the class quests back which were always a unique and interesting experience. However, most quests are let’s go kill x things over in this vague direction or grab something somewhere. There’s even a few which give the player no direction at all to figure out where to go. Weirdly enough I’ve been enjoying the challenge and have avoided looking things up online. However, there are a few things where I asked friends for help because somehow, a giant Kodo is a master of … [Read more...] about World of Warcraft Classic Review
