It’s that time again. This past week saw roughly 250 new games listed to the Steam store, and odds are a large portion of them are absolute trash. Actually, I can confirm that most of them look like absolute trash considering that out of those that actually came out, I could only find maybe sixteen that appeared to be worth playing, and that’s kinda pushing the envelope of “worth playing.” As with last week, MMO Fallout has not played the games that are on this list and cannot verify their value. They are simply a list of games that are not obvious shovelware trash, that being hentai puzzle sliders, unity asset flips, RPG maker games, and side scrolling flash titles. #1: Night & Day Night & Day is a cute looking puzzle game and a rather interesting concept. You have two characters that are both controlled by the player, each with their own unique abilities. Dark cannot be in Lights…light, otherwise it is destroyed. Dark is also the only one of the … [Read more...] about [Not Massive] Another Week Of Interesting Steam Releases

A Beginner’s Guide to War Thunder – Your First Battle
Part of The Complete Beginner’s Guide Do you like War? Do you like Thunder? If you do, you’ll love War Thunder! As long as you also love online World War II aircraft combat. In fact you don’t really need to have a view on Thunder at all, and you can hold a morally complex position about the terrible nature of War rather than simply liking it, but I don’t think Facebook have got a button for that just yet. War Thunder is available for both PC and PlayStation 4; this guide is based around the PC version, I gather the PS4 version is very similar, but if there are any major differences do let me know and I’ll pop a note in about them. Anyway! To take to the skies, the first step is to sign up for an account at warthunder.com; if you have any friends already playing the game they may like to send you a referral link to get a few rewards. It’s the usual process: first choose a nickname, find out it’s been taken, choose a different name, find out … [Read more...] about A Beginner’s Guide to War Thunder – Your First Battle
Easing Into Eorzea: Early Leveling
Leveling Your Class As stated yesterday Easing Into Eorzea is my attempt to explain some of the unique concepts in Final Fantasy XIV from the perspective of a traditional western MMO gamer. There are a number of concepts that come up in Final Fantasy XIV that are not immediately relatable based on past experience. It is my hope that I can act as a bridge to help players get adjusted to these changes. In yesterdays post I went over the various base classes of the game, and today I will be going over the various leveling options. There is no one correct path to 50 on each class but there are a few things you should definitely be aware of. When you first start a character you will be plunked down in the middle of one of the capitol cities depending on which class you chose. The amount of quests presented before you will feel extremely staggering. The first misconception is that you have to do all of the quests. In fact the game is not intending … [Read more...] about Easing Into Eorzea: Early Leveling
Night Falls
Unfortunate Bonus Round This is going to be a bit of an oddity for me, I am breaking my normal one post per day rule. I feel like the gravity of the situation warrants it, because right now I am feeling so many different emotions at the same time. By now most of you will have heard the news that I believe first broke over on the newly erected Massively OP website. Today Daybreak Games, formerly Sony Online Entertainment has chosen to make some sweeping cuts to staff. Among the individuals caught in this madness were none other than Dave “Smokejumper” Georgeson and and Linda “Brasse” Carlson. I cannot fathom a chain of consequences that would lead to this happening, but I will get into that later. For me and many others these two individuals along with Scott Hartsman before he left to join Trion… were the face of the Everquest franchise. They were the spirit of the game, and the lifeblood that kept the player … [Read more...] about Night Falls
