It’s been two weeks since my last news article, ’cause.. y’know, Christmas and all. Knowing this, I would like to point out that there’s probably more news here than normal. Let’s start this off with December’s biggest dud: Atlas. In surprising news, Lost Ark has found a Russian publisher.. before finding an English publisher. Mail.RU, the Russian Internet giant has recently been revealed as Lost Ark’s publisher in Russia. Now to upset more fans of Ashes of Creation with some.. unsettling, very disconcerting news. Yes.. Project BBQ, as in.. Barbecue. This is probably the stupidest acronym they could’ve come up with but do note that that isn’t the final name for the game. Just like Project DH was Dragon Hound, I’m sure BBQ is something equally as.. well thought out. Enplex Games, the Moscow-based game developer recently revealed that they are currently recruiting pre-Alpha and Alpha testers for their new … [Read more...] about MMORPG News: Upcoming MMO “Project BBQ”, “Population Zero”, A:IR News, Lost Ark Gets Publisher

You might be wondering why this video is coming out on a Wednesday, but the last week has been a little barren in terms of news. Ack, I’m going off topic. Welcome back everyone to your Weekly Byte of MMORPG news – Happy 4th of July! I hope you’re all there enjoying yourselves celebrating like the world’s ending tomorrow. I know I will be. Let’s kick this off with something I’ve been talking about for the last 2 weeks now – MapleStory 2. Admittedly, this is the first I’ve actually heard of the game. Project DH is a Korean steampunk themed MMO set in a world where “giant beasts are ravaging Humanity’s dominions.” The team behind the upcoming MMORPG Crowfall posted their mid-year checkpoint update last week, highlighting the game’s progress over the course of 2018. Yes, the game is still alive.. somehow. And the game is still receiving updates! It seems as though we had but a mere week free from … [Read more...] about Your Weekly Byte Of MMORPG News: Bless Online Going Free To Play? Upcoming MMO Project DH, MapleStory 2 2nd CBT
So with Bless Online being at an all time low in terms of player population and participation, I felt as though now would be an opportune moment to give my feedback on everyone’s next large gamble: Ascent: Infinite Realm, or A:IR for short. Now, when Neowiz announced that Aeria Games would be publishing Bless in the West, people freaked out. “Aeria Games is known to be a heavily pay to win company that destroys their games.” Combat is something that a lot of people complained about in Revelation Online, in Bless Online.. and is probably the main redeeming feature of Black Desert Online. Graphically, A:IR looks.. well, it looks fucking fantastic. It’s eerily reminiscent of if Black Desert and ArcheAge had a secret love child that they didn’t want anyone to know about until recently. PvP takes on various forms in A:IR. Realm vs Realm PvP is at the core of the game, having players board their airships and engage the opposing team in aerial combat. … [Read more...] about Should You Play Ascent: Infinite Realm? DAY 2 Player: @jarira Well, Day 2 started off on a rather inauspicious note: @jarira: “I’m ready to play now!”Me: “Sure, go head. I’ll be right there.” *logs in, types /invite Saalua* Two minutes pass… WoW: Saalua has declined your group invitation! *retypes /invite Saalua* Another two minutes pass… WoW: Saalua has declined your group invitation!Me: WTF? *Sends direct message to Jarira* “What’s wrong, are you not past the loading screen yet?”OMG some random bitch keeps trying to invite me to their party! “Wha-? That’s ME, you fool!” Clearly, a quick lesson on how to use the social window and to add friends was in order. She’ll have no excuse to forget my name ever again. Amazingly, we managed to get through the rest of our play session with no major problems. We only had some slight issues with combat, when she kept trying to use her dagger on her enemies — *cue the exasperated groans that … [Read more...] about Project WoW Noob: Day 2 – Questing…FINALLY!
Does anyone remember Project Wonderful? They are (were) a little company that allowed you to pay into the site and place ads up on other sites in the network. You could also place your own ads up on your page and people could purchase those in return. A Short Look Back Wayrift. In fact, I think a high number of our long-term readers at Wayrift came from discovering us through Project Wonderful. For a small webcomic, it was an affordable option, and it really did connect a lot of the comics together. At the height of advertising on Wayrift, I was not only breaking even, but making a little extra here or there. I won’t say that traffic was flooding in, but it wasn’t terrible, either. It was a pretty viable way of getting fresh eyes on our content. But for some reason, it fell out of practice for us to use it. In fact, I haven’t used it a whole lot in the past 5-6 years. I did try a short stent with it last year, but didn’t really see a ton of results, and I was … [Read more...] about The Passing of Project Wonderful & A Look at Current Blogging/Creativity
