ARK: Survival Evolved Launches In-game Arkaeology Event More ARK: Survival Evolved news this week! Dinosaur hype is at its peak as the Jurassic blockbuster prepares to invade movie screens next week! Developer Studio Wildcard is excited as well, celebrating today by launching a new in-game event for its action-adventure dinosaur survival game, ARK: Survival Evolved. Dubbed “ARKaeology”, this time-limited event encourages players to search the multiple ARKs for fossil mounds, which, when scavenged, will reveal dinosaur bones which can be used to create special skins in a cooking pot. What exists of these two titles today in action is hard to find: a blurb in Origin Systems’ history, some concept art, and a few screenshots. Out of the two, Privateer Online seems to have gotten the most attention and push from EA. I’ll admit that it’s not 100% clear whether these were two separate titles, a name variation (such as Wing Commander Online: Privateer), or a continuation of the same project under a name change. The problem here is that several sources mention them as separate projects, while other sources ignore WCO altogether. This made me realize, that even though my site is called “MMO Gamer Chick”, most of the time I don’t actually feel like I’m blogging from a “girl’s point of view”. I mean, I’m female, but that fact has little to nothing to do with how I experience games, and for the most part I think my posts have been pretty gender-neutral (all right, we’re not counting the ones where I gush about my crushes on video game characters, okay?)
