With the undead and possibly soulless cat out of the bag with Minas Morgul, Standing Stone Games is fielding a whole bunch of questions about Lord of the Rings Online’s upcoming expansion. There are many ways to handle this, but SSG’s favorite medium is via livestream, which is exactly what happened this Friday. Community Manager Jerry Snook gathered together several questions from Hobbits and gamers alike about Minas Morgul and answered them in a video. What was of great interest was further details about the “Mordor Besieged” realm, which Snook said will take players on a time travel trip to the Second Age and the last time Mordor got trounced by the Free Peoples. Here’s a fun twist: You’ll be able to store all of the loot you get in the Second Age part and then dig it up to keep on your main character! Players should expect a virtue cap increase to 65 and at least two new class trait points with the expansion. SSG confirmed a couple of things that … [Read more...] about LOTRO: Minas Morgul will take you back in time to the Second Age

Developed by Runewaker Entertainment, Runes of Magic is a classical, free-to-play MMORPG which could be accused of being a World of Warcraft clone. There are, however, a number of very interesting features which make it a viable alternative to Blizzard’s masterpiece whilst maintaining some originality. Your first steps of a player’s journey is to create a character and assign a race and class. Runes of Magic contains three races (Human, Dwarf and Elf) and has eight classes, each of which are suited to varying styles of game play. The Brunt of the Journey Like any good MMORPG, in order to gain XP and acquire new skills you must complete quests, which are given to players by NPC’s who are marked on the mini-map by a yellow exclamation mark. Quests are fairly standard fare and usually involve traveling to a location, collecting or killing a certain number of objects or hostile NPC’s before … [Read more...] about Runes of Magic Review 2018 – Is This Classic MMORPG Worth Playing?
KOG Games prepared a lengthy tutorial gameplay for their upcoming Anime Action Game KurtzPel showing off four different weapons. Players can swap and equip two of the four following weapons, a Bow called Dance of Wind, the Great Sword of Talaimh, the Staff of a Diabolic Witch, and a Dual Soul Swords. Even though the trailer is in another language, you should be able to grasp and get a feel for the combat basics, movement, combos, juggles, skill system, weapon system, etc. The combat does look exciting since you're going to be alternating between various weapons and different skill sets. You can also perform different combos with left and right click depending on the weapon used. Air combos seems to be one of the strongest point of this game, so I do hope they work on that more. Air juggles are always fun in fighting games, as long as their balance and no infinite combos, lol. A friend of mine recently translated the KurtzPel interview here are some snippets from the article, … [Read more...] about STEPARU News, Reviews, Previews & Information for Foreign Games KurtzPel Tutorial Combat Basics and Weapons Shown in Latest Teaser
Funcom has just rolled out an update for their 11-year old fantasy MMORPG Age of Conan called Unconquered. The update is a nod to the studio’s upcoming Conan-themed RTS, Conan Unconquered, and brings with it a host of new features including a new mode called, yeah you guessed it, Unconquered. “Create a new character, mark them as Unconquered, level up, and earn new rewards! The only catch: If your Unconquered character dies, the run’s over. You won’t be able to continue earning rewards with that character. How long will you survive?” The update will also introduce two new Race/Class combinations: Cimmerian Assassins and Stygian Dark Templars. Both combinations are now available for free. In addition, Unconquered also comes with a new Badge system to show off your achievements, and Vanity Weapons. “Any weapon you currently possess is eligible to be placed in the Vanity Weapon section, although the vanity weapon itself has to match the type of your … [Read more...] about Reap Rewards For Not Dying In The New Age Of Conan Update
Play Age of Conan or die, my lord. A growing trend in several MMOs ever since Eve Online popularized the mechanic, has been offline training: skills and abilities that level even though you are offline. Eve Online and Alganon are just two games to utilize this feature, with Age of Conan recently joining the fray: In games like Eve Online, considering your character is not under a level system, the research done into your character can make a difference in what ships you can pilot, your weapon loadout, replacing the traditional leveling system. In Alganon, your offline research tree has more to do with small boosts to stats than anything else. Extra damage with certain weapons, extra defense against certain elements, and more. The offline progression doesn’t have a make-or-break impact on the game, but it is nice to have any advantage you can. If Age Of Conan is one thing, it isn’t subtle. Rather than opt to give players simple stat increases in an alternate training tree, … [Read more...] about Age of Conan: Offline Leveling With No Respec
