Massively on the Go: Our guide to legendary and EX raiding in Pokemon Go

It’s a bit odd to say this about a Pokemon game, but raiding in Pokemon Go is kind of a big deal. Multiplayer has always been a core part of the series, but it’s mostly been PvP. Niantic’s design choices aren’t always on point, but since its first reveal, I knew it was something that would change the nature of the game, and it certainly did. I’d argue that the introduction of raiding, something I normally dislike in MMOs, is what really helped solidify POGO as at least an MMO-esque game. But as in your typical MMO, raiding is drastically different from what you do 90% of the time in game. The new quests/tutorials kind of help with this, but there are some very basic issues that even people in my raid group still ignore. While having strong allies is part of the reason for this, numbers can help offset this as well. But if you’re reading this guide, you probably need to help your local scene out, or at least want to tackle … [Read more...] about Massively on the Go: Our guide to legendary and EX raiding in Pokemon Go

Star Citizen’s Chris Roberts responds to publication’s ‘long troll’, threatens legal action for defamation

Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you probably know that Star Citizen and its creator Chris Roberts have been under siege from a certain indie game developer in recent months. The crowdfunded sci-fi sandbox has also had its legitimacy questioned in the gaming press, notably by The Escapist, which today published an antagonistic article sourced from anonymous, alleged Star Citizen employees and ex-employees. Roberts, apparently, has seen enough and broke his silence on the topic in a new post on the official site. He writes, I have, to date, attempted to stay above the internet drama currently surrounding Derek Smart and his claims about Star Citizen. My feeling has been that it is most important to speak with actions instead of words, and to date I feel that we have done that with the multi crew demo, the launch of the social module and everything else you see here in this space on a daily basis. However, with the publication of today’s article (I can only … [Read more...] about Star Citizen’s Chris Roberts responds to publication’s ‘long troll’, threatens legal action for defamation

Try-It Tuesday: The Long Dark (story mode)

Back in the days of 2016, I purchased The Long Dark as part of a Steam summer sale. At the time, the game only offered survival mode, which I tried. It was generally well-done and I had a fun adventure, although survival games aren’t usually my thing and TLD didn’t do much to change that opinion. But I had heard that there was a story mode that was on the way in the future, so I tucked that thought in the back of my mind and tucked the game back into my library. That little persistent thought of a story mode finally made me reload the game this past month to check it out. Right now, The Long Dark’s story — which is called “Wintermute” — consists of just two episodes with more to come. But two is more than none, and the revelation that BOTH of Mass Effect’s Shepherds did the voices here got me on board. At the start, Wintermute plays like a straight-up adventure game in the vein of Firewatch. You’re Mackenzie, a semi-drunk airplane … [Read more...] about Try-It Tuesday: The Long Dark (story mode)

Why Are Your E-mail Subscirbers Inactive? 12 Solutions (with Templates)

Every single marketing or product blog suggests you start building an e-mail list. The number one method of doing this is by giving away an e-book, or a course, or something that is somehow valuable around your niche and in turn, capturing a reader’s e-mail information. This is good advice because e-mail marketing works by distributing your content and making sales of your products. But most of the advice stops there. They talk about e-mail collection strategies, but do not go beyond that. Today we’ll cover another area of e-mail marketing that is generally not covered: The reasons your users are inactive. Defining an inactive e-mail subscriber An inactive e-mail subscriber has one or more of the following qualities: Subscribed to your blog, but has not interacted with your e-mails right after signing-up. Subscribed to your blog, but has not interacted with your e-mails in the past 6 months Subscribed to your blog, but has not interacted with your e-mails in the past 9 … [Read more...] about Why Are Your E-mail Subscirbers Inactive? 12 Solutions (with Templates)

Evergreen Content Generation Tips for Startups Companies

In my career as an SEO specialist, I’ve written innumerable articles for many different clients. The short-term content I generated such as news and opinions on popular topics received good traffic, but only for a very limited time. Days after they went live, the websites’ traffic dipped back to mediocre levels, and the content had been mostly forgotten. On the other hand, my clients continue to benefit from the “evergreen” content I created months after they got published. What is Evergreen Content? Essentially, it is the kind of content that can provide relevant information to people for an indefinite length of time. It remains mostly true and useful that the site’s visitors will find a reason to view it, whether they are completely new to the topic or veterans in the field. Fittingly, the name comes from the type of plants that have leaves no matter the season, even when it is snowing or there is little to no rainfall. Benefits of Evergreen Content … [Read more...] about Evergreen Content Generation Tips for Startups Companies
