When will callaway rogue be available
In case you missed it, yesterday was Nintendo Direct day. You might have noticed all those people praying for some of the company’s older library to be ported to the Switch and actually getting it. Of course, ports of old Nintendo games aren’t why we’re here. Instead, there was a surprise new game announcement from Hi-Rez — which we’re obviously covering because their history makes us think it will be free-to-play. The new game — titled Rogue Company — is a multiplayer, cross-platform shooter being developed for the Switch, PC (via the Epic Games Store according to the game’s current site details), Xbox, and PlayStation. It has a rather different feel from most of Hi-Rez’s current library of games, taking on a more realistic style for one thing. That said, it’s still a team-based game — which probably means Hi-Rez is already planning its first tournament. Not a lot of information has been provided about the game as of … [Read more...] about Hi-Rez Reveals Military-Style Shooter Rogue Company
Sometimes I know that I may be a bit too old-school because there’s a little twitch in my eye whenever I have to refer to a given class as a Rogue. That’s become my go-to replacing Thief, and it really does make a fair amount of sense: Rogue skillsets are usually more covering a variety of skulky activities, which incorporates but is no means limited to thievery. Not to mention that calling someone a “Thief” seems like it’s underselling the situation. Especially when the party is frequently engaged in the act of assault, murder, destruction of property, and unnatural acts with corpses. A while back, I talked about how to understand the lifestyle of the MMO Warrior, because there’s always a Warrior. Just as surely, there’s always a Rogue, or a Thief, or if you have to go a little further afield, a Scoundrel or Stalker. So in the spirit of understanding these conventions, let’s talk about understanding MMO Rogues. 1. Rogues always dress in … [Read more...] about Perfect Ten: Ten things you need to understand about MMORPG Rogues
Hey gang! Welcome back for another thrilling adventure in Lawful Neutral, the column where I spend my evenings reading EULAs until my eyes bleed so that you don’t have to. You what’s the real bee’s knees right now? City of Heroes. Not bad for a game that’s been shut down for six and a half years. The amount of drama and articles generated over the last 72 hours about this game is pretty damn impressive. Also exhausting (just ask our Editor-in-Chief, who’s not getting much sleep right about now!). But yes, the source code, more or less, for CoH has been released to the wild. What that effectively means is that in a matter of weeks or months, gamers around the global could have a functioning – but rogue – CoH server available to play on. But should you play on it is an entirely different question from can you play on it. Today we are going to explore the NCsoft EULA for City of Heroes as we try to answer the question: Can you … [Read more...] about Lawful Neutral: Is it safe to play on City of Heroes’ inevitable rogue servers?
The City of Heroes rogue server drama continues this weekend as community work advances behind the scenes to bring the game back to life, with a reported 8000 accounts rolled and all trying to wedge into a test server that only overnight expanded to hold 1000. Thus far it’s all been without the formal blessing of the company that still owns the sunsetted MMO, NCsoft. That may be about to change, however, as Saturday rumors broke out across the City of Heroes Discord that any potential negotiations between NCsoft and the involved parties might hinge on the character database, not the code and assets. Readers will recall that one of the most hurtful revelations from the leak of the secret private server last week was the claim that the server allowed players to log into replicated characters from the live version of the game. Obviously, many would-be players would like that character database made available to theoretical future servers as well now that the server codebase has been … [Read more...] about City of Heroes’ rogue servers may abandon character restoration as 8000 gamers register to play
