Conan Exiles is Funcom’s take on an open world, survival Conan world where players write the stories and create the fun with the tools at their disposal. The game is finally exiting early access to launch globally on May 8th 2018, and much has changed. Since our review almost a year ago, the dev team has continued to iron out issues and improve gameplay based on early access feedback. Now that we’re a month away from launch, are the new changes worth checking out? Here’s what’s coming. A New Combat System The new combat system is very different and a huge improvement on the old one. The new system for Conan Exiles will have the brutal, tactical and savage combat which a Conan game deserves. The first thing you might notice is the new visual style. All weapons (swords, daggers, hammers, maces, spears, great swords etc) are getting their own attacks and animations. The attacks consist of a wide range of lunges, sweeps, jumps, cleaves, slashes and dashes. This … [Read more...] about Conan Exiles 2018: Is Conan Exiles Worth Playing At Launch Come May 8th?

Conan Exiles Is Now The Best-Selling And Fastest-Selling Game In Funcom History Funcom announced today that Conan Exiles, the recently launched open world survival game, is now both the best-selling and fastest-selling game in the company’s history. Conan Exiles has now surpassed Funcom’s previous record-holder, the 2008 massively multiplayer game Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. That game sold 1.4 million units by the time it went free-to-play three years after its initial release. Kicking off Early Access in January 2017 with full launch in May 2018, Conan Exiles broke this record in less than half that time. After the success of the first DLC, The Imperial East, Funcom is also excited to announce that Jewel of the West, the second DLC, will be launching in early August. The downloadable content introduces new Aquilonia-themed building pieces, weapons, armor, furniture, and more. Funcom’s fortunes continue to rise thanks to Conan Exiles: The company announced today that it’s “both the best-selling and fastest-selling game” in its history, passing up 2008’s Age of Conan, which sold 1.4 million units in its first three years. Conan Exiles has busted past that record in under half that time since launching early access in 2017. There’s good news to look forward to, too, as the game is launching on PS4 on August 23rd, working on a freebie patch, and picking up new DLC called Jewel of the West in “early August,” which you’ll note isn’t all that far away. “The downloadable content introduces new Aquilonia-themed building pieces, weapons, armor, furniture, and more. In Conan lore, Aquilonia is the center of the civilized world and its clothing and architecture is inspired by that of the real-world Romans.” The free content will include pets and taming, “allowing players to find and tame … [Read more...] about Conan Exiles has set another Funcom record, announces Jewel of the West DLC and patch
https://www.conanexiles.com/blog/weekly-community-newsletter-all-about-them-pets/ Pet system Today we’re pulling the curtain away to reveal more about the Conan Exiles Pet system, how it works, how you get pets, what your pets can do for you and which animals you can have as pets. Pets work a little bit like thralls: you capture them, convert them and have them perform certain tasks for you in the game. The main difference is how animals are obtained and the mechanics of pet maintenance. The new Jhebbal Sag religious path will also have a connection to the Pet system. CAPTURING AN ANIMAL To begin rearing an animal, you will need to obtain a baby or an egg. These can be found in the world, and on certain (rare) vendors. To pick up a baby animal in the world, simply press the interaction button when you have it targeted. Eggs will hatch after a certain amount of time and produce live offspring, which will sit in your inventory. Baby animals … [Read more...] about Conan Exiles New Pet System Explained
The second shade was neither hostile nor evasive; at first glance it seemed friendly and articulate. To a casual observer it appeared to be some 17th-century nobleman, well-groomed and handsome, greeting us as we moved through the house and offering to explain his situation. Kyle was the first to take him up on the offer, and also the last. We only heard the first thing he said to Kyle: “I’m not supposed to be here. There’s been a terrible mistake.” Joanne was unsettled, and though she could not explain why, try as she might, she ushered us away from the shade even as Kyle settled on the floor to listen to the shade. She even shouted at the top of her lungs so we could hear none of his words until we were two floors down, at which point we could still hear the voice but not make out the words. Joanne herself was hoarse from shouting for half a week. Kyle didn’t come downstairs that evening, or the following morning. When we went upstairs to find him once … [Read more...] about WRUP: The second shade of Sycamore House edition
