Players have had to deal with equal parts excitement and anxiety over this new course (with old developers). 37Games has recently announced their new RTS mobile game Stone Arena. Developed by Gametopia and will be globally available in July on both Google Play and the Apple App Store. Stone Arena is a 3v3 brawler that offers a user-friendly design as well as hard-core gameplay and gameplay strategy on top of that. Winning sees players destroying the opponent’s fort in an arena battlefield, and battles promise to be intense, fast-paced but never easy. Players will not have to worry about being timed out in Stone Arena because after 3 minutes both forts be under sudden death’s Hellfire attack until the fort’s HP drops to 0. As we covered yesterday, Leyou Technologies, the Chinese company that owns Warframe studio Digital Extremes, has spun up a new company called Athlon Games specifically to “to develop and publish a free-to-play massively multiplayer online video game” set in the Lord of the Rings universe and in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises. That’s got a lot of existing players of Lord of the Rings Online a bit panicked over the fate of Standing Stone Games’ future. (Although to be honest, that’s been true almost since the game launched; licensing concerns crop up over and over, and the game trucks on.) In what is seeming to be the continued tradition of writing disclaimers at the top of my blog posts. I am still fine even though everything around me seems to be going batshit crazy. I officially cannot travel to see my parents right now as the highway between me and them is blocked with flood water. In my suburb the water has receded, but the city of Tulsa proper is struggling. I am getting pulled into some support of the flood prep effort, which is why I did not blog at all Friday. I got up for work at 4 am and was in the office at 5:30… which left me no time at all for my traditional blogging. Yesterday was of course a holiday here in the United States, and I contemplated writing a post… but could not bring myself to actually do so. Instead I more or less spent the weekend recuperating from the madness that has been our life over the last several weeks.
