Some of these rewards will lead Trainers to access unique storylines that include discovering the mystery behind the Mythical Pokémon Mew. Trainers can complete multiple Field Research tasks each day, with more challenging tasks offering greater rewards. Pokemon GO is celebrating with new Pokemon variants with a distinctly tropical vibe. If you’re a long-time Pokemon fan you probably know what I’m talking about. Niantic announced that they will soon be releasing Alolan forms of the original 150 Kanto Pokemon. “Sunny days are ahead! Whether your forecast calls for rain or shine, we’re celebrating all around the world by introducing some special Pokémon from the tropical Alola region to Pokémon GO. Nintendo has done it again! They've managed to build massive hype for the Switch, and confuse the absolute heck out of me in the process. I followed yesterday night's live tweeting and announcements from the presentation, and I have to say I was suuuuper confused at first. Now I think I'm a little less confused, but I'm still working out some of the details.  What I want to talk about in this post is the new game(s) coming to Switch on November 16: 'Let's Go Pikachu!' and 'Let's Go Eevee!' (get those pre-orders in on Amazon!) From what we can tell, these games (let's just call them both Let's Go!) will be close to a "core-RPG" Pokemon experience, but not quite.  Before we go further, check out the trailer below. The latest SuperData research analysis is out and about that showcases a couple of interesting facts: Pokemon Go revenue is up 174% year-over-year and is showing the player base at its highest level since launch in 2016. Other facts from this month's data: Fortnite earned over $300M in a single month, up "only" 7% over April. This is the first time the game has earned $300M+ in its history, with most revenue coming from console players. Star Wars: Battlefront II players aren't much interested in the new loot boxes as EA's profits from 'Additional Content' fell in May. Gazillion is back in the news, for a short time at least. CCP takes a jab at Star Citizen, but it’s all light-hearted fun, and the Pokemon GO Population goes up for the summer. There’s all of that and more in this week’s MMO Money, the weekly gaming business news report. Trion Buys Gazillion Assets In an interview with VentureBeat, Trion World’s CEO Scott Hartsman revealed that the company has purchased what remains of Gazillion’s assets. The goal isn’t to revive Marvel Heroes, though fans of the game are hopeful this could happen. They were specifically interested in Gazillion’s tools that will help them with the publishing side of things.
